Got some really cool free copywriting, marketing and selling resources to tell you about today.
So without further ado, here we go…
1. Shameless Shamus Brown’s “Can’t Fail” Sales Question
Shameless Shamus’s daily e-letter is by FAR my favorite e-newsletter.
I actually enjoy his stuff even better than Matt Furey’s emails (and you already know what a “fanboy” I am of Matt’s stuff).
In fact, Shamus’s recent blog post titled:
… is probably one of the single most practical (and simple to use) sales tips I’ve ever seen.
I don’t care what you’re selling either — a vacuum cleaner, copywriting services, a supplement, yourself in a job interview, or if you’re simply negotiating a good deal with someone.
Doesn’t matter what the “thing” you’re selling is.
Just do what Shamus says next time you want to sell something to someone (even if it’s just to sell them on an idea) and watch what happens.
Just awesome, awesome information.
BTW, if you aren’t on Shameless Shamus’s daily email list you are truly missing out on some of the best material you can find. Sometimes I get so fired up after reading his emails I wanna go out and sell something just for the heck of it!
You can sign up for his emails at:
2. Jon McCulloch’s Free PRINTED Marketing Newsletter
Over the past few months I’ve chatted several times (by phone, email, and forum) with a UK copywriter named Jon McCulloch.
Jon is an extremely interesting guy, to say the least.
For one thing, he (like myself) doesn’t fall for all these dorky “voodoo” claims made by some of the hypnosis & NLP gurus.
For another thing, he does what nobody else has the cajones to do:
He gives away a free PRINTED newsletter each month.
Seriously.
Just sign up for his print newsletter and he’ll send it right to your doorstep without charge.
Now, you may be tempted to think he stuffs it with “fluff” and ads.
I mean, how else would it be worth the expense?
But nothing could be further from the truth.
In fact, I have so far found his free newsletter to be more valuable than some of the paid ones I’ve read (including Dan Kennedy’s).
You may think that’s just hype and puffery.
But you can easily judge yourself (without spending a dime) by going to:
3. Mike Dillard’s “Magnetic Sponsoring” E-Letter
I’ve worked with Mike on several of his projects over the past few months, and he’s easily one of the sharpest marketing and business minds I’ve ever met.
He sells informational products to the MLM market and everything he does is just top notch.
In fact, I can’t recommend his “Black Belt Recruiting” product enough — whether you’re in MLM or not. (I’m not in MLM, and I literally used some of his stuff to land a copywriting client.)
And besides his BBR course, I am HIGHLY urging you to get on his daily email list at:
Reason why is because each issue is a superb example of a “disguised” sales pitch.
In other words, Mike both educates AND sells you simultaneously.
You don’t even realize you want to buy what he’s selling until you’ve already clicked on the link.
And much of the stuff he writes about can be directly applied to ANY business — not just MLM.
Check it out and see for yourself.
I think you’ll find a whole new appreciation for what some of these MLM info-marketers are doing these days (I know I have).
4. Terry Dean’s Internet Business Coaching Blog
Terry Dean is an early Internet marketing pioneer and is the reason many of us are even marketing online. (He did an interview with Ron LeGrand many years ago that inspired me to get my first Internet promotion up. I’ll always be grateful for that.)
He’s also one of the most honest and “no hype” marketers I’ve ever met.
If anything, he undersells his (always excellently produced) materials.
You can read his marketing blog (one of my absolute favorites) at:
By the way, I recently bought Terry Dean’s “Email Mastery” course and it’s phenomenally good.
In fact, I liked it so much, I asked if he would let me interview him about his email marketing secrets.
He agreed, and I’ll let you know when it’s ready (if you’re on my blog “alerts” list — see top right hand corner of this page).
In the meantime, if you want to read more about his email course, go to:
Also, if you buy Terry’s course from the above link and send me your receipt to ben (at) bensettle.com, I’ll send you an exclusive interview I did with email copywriting master Jay White (who writes email copy for Alex Mandossian, Stephen Pierce, Rich Schefren, Jeff Walker, and a bunch of other million dollar Internet marketers).
This interview is part of my upcoming “Affiliate Trump Card” product and could easily sell on its own for $97 or more.
As I mentioned, Jay writes email for some of the world’s top Internet marketers.
And if you’ve bought anything from a big name marketer’s email, there’s a good chance it was Jay’s copy that “sold” you.
If you have any interest in catalog writing (and making some truly “easy money”), don’t forget to listen to the free lesson Jay did for my site last year at:
My wife Tanna — who has never written a word of copy in her life — recently picked up Jay’s course and got her first client (without ANY help from me whatsoever) within about four weeks.
All she did was follow Jay’s course and BAM! — she nabbed her first client.
In fact, she not only got catalog work, but one client paid her $500 for a stinkin’ one page welcome letter (crap… I don’t even get $500 for a one page letter).
So Jay’s stuff works.
But only if you “work” it.
It’s definitely not “magic”, and you will have to do the things Jay says (like actually call catalog companies — and not hide behind an email address).
But it’s not hard work by any means, and it can pay off handsomely if you stick with it.
Anyway, you can listen to the Jay White interview at:
OK, that’s it for now.
See you next time…

Hi Ben – Just wanted to say thanks for the recommendations which probably wouldn’t have hit my radar otherwise – I can hardly wait for Shamus’s emails to come through and I’m looking forward to Jon’s printed newsletter. I also got switched on to Doug D’anna by reading your blog too so cheers for that as well

Hey Glen, I’m so glad you are finding them useful.
I stop everything once Shamus’s emails come. And his sales course is next on my list of products to buy.
Ben
Hi, Mike Dillards email marketing is something we could all learn from. He’s the best in my opinion! His strategies are priceless.
