When I first joined Twitter, I figured it was just another lame-o social media site that’d be good for a few kicks, and nothing else.
And, in many cases, that’s been true.
But I’ve also found some truly valuable copywriting and marketing “gems” reading certain peoples’ tweets.
And right now I’m going to list some of these people (and why I follow them on Twitter) so you can learn from them, too, if you so choose.
Anyway, here they are:
1. Greg Perry
Greg Perry is both a friend and an eBay genius.
He and his wife have been eBay “Power Sellers” for the past severals years, he writes an extremely cool eBay print newspaper column and, from what I can tell, he eats, drinks and breathes eBay.
And it definitely shows in his tweets.
In fact, all his tweets contain a powerful tip you can use to put more moolah in your pocket — regardless of what you’re selling on eBay.
If you or anyone you know uses eBay, I highly suggest reading his tweets (starting today) at:
2. Ryan Healy
Ryan has also become a pretty good friend over the past year or so, and his feedback and advice have been invaluable.
Plus, not only is he an excellent copywriter, but he loves to test and track everything.
In fact, you cannot talk to him for more than a few minutes before he starts telling you about an interesting test he’s seen or heard about you can then apply to one of your ads. (Sometimes I feel like I should be paying him a consulting fee when just casually chatting on the horn.)
And his tweets are just as interesting and informative. Which is why I so enjoy reading them every day at:
3. Ray Edwards
Ray is brilliant, period.
I mean, this guy has marketing and copywriting secrets oozing out of his head and I have no idea how he keeps it all in there.
Heck, just the interview he did for my Affiliate Trump Card product alone could sell on its own for $100 — easy.
That’s why I recommend anyone in copywriting and marketing follow Ray, observe what he’s doing and realize nothing he does is by “accident.” I’d even go so far as to say the more Ray Edwards teachings you can absorb, the more money you will make.
And that include his tweets — which you can read at:
4. Michel Fortin
While I’ve never met Michel Fortin, I have nothing but respect for him and his work. He’s a self described fanatical tester and, like with Ray Edwards, I suspect nothing on his sales pages and websites is there by accident, either.
But what I like most about his tweets is all the cool little resources he reveals every now and then.
I have no idea where he finds all these obscure websites and resources, but they often contain some mega-useful piece of software, WordPress plugin, or resource.
You can check out his tweets at:
5. Shamus Brown
I’ve written about “Shameless” Shamus Brown multiple times, now. And I think anyone involved with selling or persuasion should be reading his fascinating daily sales tips.
His tweets are awesome, too.
Not just because he’s as politically ultra-conservative as I am, but because he’s just flat-out entertaining — whether he’s analyzing the news, rapping about business or even talking about how he names the pig for his pig roast each year.
You can see for yourself at:
6. Art Jonak
I’ve actually been a fan of Art’s for several years now. Not only is he an excellent salesman and early Internet marketing pioneer (in the MLM niche), but he’s also a a first-class guy all the way.
What I like about his tweets is the optimistic, upbeat nature of them.
Frankly, it’s impossible for me to read a days’ worth of his tweets and not be affected in a good way.
You can see why I say this at:
Anyway, there are more cool twitter’rs I follow (you can see them all at http://twitter.com/BenSettle).
But these are the 6 I most anxiously look forward to reading each day.
And if you’re looking for a semi-regular dose of hard-core marketing, copywriting and selling instruction, you can’t go wrong by following them on Twitter, too.
