This is for people who liked my “Zombie Cop” and “Vampire\u00a0Apocalypse” novels.<\/p>\n
And, who wanted to have an update on when the next book in the\u00a0Enoch Wars series would be ready, what it’d be about, and what can\u00a0be expected.<\/p>\n
So, without further ado…<\/p>\n
Let’s start with what it’s gonna be about.<\/p>\n
After “Zombie Cop” and “Vampire Apocalypse” I’m bored with zombies\u00a0and vampires.<\/p>\n
Not much else I can say on the subjects.<\/p>\n
So this next one will be about…<\/p>\n
Demons!<\/p>\n
The working title is:<\/p>\n
“Demon Crossfire”<\/strong><\/p>\n And, I’m going to start banging out the second draft after next\u00a0week. I hammered the entire first draft out in 14 days back in May,\u00a0and let it “cool” for a couple months. (Not unlike writing a sales\u00a0letter, as far as waiting as long as possible between doing your\u00a0first and second drafts).<\/p>\n Anyway, so that’s the plan.<\/p>\n As for the plot?<\/p>\n Well, I don’t wanna drop any spoilers.<\/p>\n But, I will say this:<\/p>\n I went into some kinda creepy corners of the Bible and some other extra-Biblical texts and teachings (scholars, history, testimonies, etc)\u00a0about demonic possession, literally trying to “think” like\u00a0a demon, and even identifying some by their historic names. It\u00a0wasn’t a very pleasant place to go let me tell ya. And, like the\u00a0other two books, this one goes into a lot of blatantly Biblical and\u00a0historical themes and events, and gives my own unique “spin” on\u00a0what I think demons would torment my character Azriel Creed and\u00a0the world I’ve built in these novels.<\/p>\n As for the tentative release?<\/p>\n I’m shooting for October.<\/p>\n Maybe November, depending on how fast the cover is created.<\/p>\n Why so long a wait?<\/p>\n Because my creative process works like this:<\/p>\n 1. Write first draft<\/p>\n 2. Let sit for at least 30-60 days<\/p>\n 3. Do 9 more drafts (10 total) — 8 of those drafts silent reading,\u00a02 reading it aloud (this adds up to a little over 1 draft per week,\u00a0which comes out to 10 weeks of editing time)<\/p>\n 4. Send to my editor\/publisher to edit and the designer<\/p>\n Anyway, so that’s the scoop on the next sequel.<\/p>\n More info later as it becomes available.<\/p>\n Wait a minute…<\/p>\n What’s that?<\/p>\n You haven’t read “Zombie Cop” or “Vampire Apocalypse” yet?<\/p>\n Well, don’t bother with book 3 unless you’ve read the first two \u2014\u00a0you’ll be lost, and it’ll ruin the experience and gradual build-up\u00a0towards the grand finale that’ll happen in book 7 (yes, I have it\u00a0all mapped out well in advance, that’s the way I roll\u2026)<\/p>\n But don’t worry.<\/p>\n The general consensus is these books are entertaining.<\/p>\n At least, going by the reviews for both books.<\/p>\n There are a few nitpick reviews, too, of course.<\/p>\n (Including one where I got the reviewer to admit most of his\u00a0criticism was inaccurate and that he hadn’t read it carefully\u00a0enough, but I digress…)<\/p>\n But generally, the feedback is:<\/p>\n It’s a fun, easy to read book.<\/p>\n (typos notwithstanding)<\/p>\n Gross?<\/p>\n Yes.<\/p>\n Violent?<\/p>\n Most definitely.<\/p>\n (One guy said he’d “pray for my deranged soul” after reading the\u00a0first one. And my own cousin told me when her step daughter read it\u00a0she said, “what’s wrong with your cousin??” heh)<\/p>\n Fast, entertaining reads?<\/p>\n (Especially for people who don’t normally even read fiction?)<\/p>\n That’s the goal.<\/p>\n And, the reviews all seem to say it succeeded on that level.<\/p>\n But, are they right?<\/p>\n Only one way to find out, babycakes.\u00a0That’s to read it yourself.\u00a0Amazon has a “see inside” feature that lets you read the first\u00a0chapter of both books free.<\/p>\n I always tell people to give it 3 pages.<\/p>\n If you don’t like it by then, don’t buy it.<\/p>\n You probably won’t like the rest of it.<\/p>\n Life’s too short — move on to another book.<\/p>\n Alright, enough of this clacking.<\/p>\n If you want to read the sample chapter, read through the reviews,\u00a0and get a “feel” for if you should invest even a second of your\u00a0time on these books, then lurch on over to:<\/p>\n
