And while most impress the wahoo out of these\u00a0clients and do elBenbo proud\u2026 there is one negative report I\u00a0sometimes get.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what I mean:<\/p>\n<p>A would-be client sends me what they need.<\/p>\n<p>I email the &#8220;Email Players&#8221; list.<\/p>\n<p>The freelancers on there then email the would-be client, but some\u00a0of the people emailing them are coming off as trying to be too\u00a0clever (which turns them off) and, at worst, looking like spammers.<\/p>\n<p>Take, for example, my ex-copywriting apprentice.<\/p>\n<p>She recently started her own copywriting agency.<\/p>\n<p>And few months back, I sent an email to the Email Playerhood about\u00a0how she&#8217;s looking for copywriters to work with and she sent me some\u00a0of the replies asking:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;Why can\u2019t they just talk to me like a regular person? Why all the\u00a0copywriting drama and shenanigans?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I shook my head.<\/p>\n<p>And, had no answer.<\/p>\n<p>She was getting all these subject lines and emails that sounded\u00a0like spam at a glance, as they tried to show how clever they are.\u00a0These subject lines *would* have worked great if sent to a list,\u00a0most likely.
