When looking at his options, he went to several different specialists \u2014 each of who told him \u201ctheir\u201d way was the best and only way worth doing.<\/p>\n<p>Example:<\/p>\n<p>The surgeon said the ONLY solution was removing his prostate.<\/p>\n<p>Another doctor said various drugs would be best.<\/p>\n<p>And the naturopath said he should use only natural approaches, and so on, and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>(Ultimately, he took a 4th option, different topic for a different list\u2026)<\/p>\n<p>Well, guess what?<\/p>\n<p>This happens in the ye olde marketing world, too.<\/p>\n<p>A real life example:<\/p>\n<p>If you were to read all my material you would see I\u2019m going to advocate using email as your main way of selling on the front end. But, if you read my friend Doberman Dan, he makes a helluva good case *against* email and *for* direct mail.<\/p>\n<p>Which of us is right?<\/p>\n<p>Both and neither.<\/p>\n<p>I actually agree with him direct mail is incredibly powerful.<\/p>\n<p>And, in many ways far more profitable than email ever will be.<\/p>\n<p>But, it doesn\u2019t work for what I\u2019m doing for lead generation very well.<\/p>\n<p>(I\u2019ve talked to two of the top direct mail specialists on the planet about using direct mail to get opt ins \u2014 one of which is Dan, ironically \u2014 and both concluded that, for my goals and the part of the market I want on my list and as customers, there are no lists you can rent via SRDS, etc that are worth it, although I\u2019m still searching\u2026)<\/p>\n<p>Another example:<\/p>\n<p>I know one dude who does incredible video marketing.<\/p>\n<p>But, his emails suck out loud.<\/p>\n<p>So, in his case, I have told him to NOT to do email (other than to tell his list he\u2019s put a new video up each day) and focus on pumping out daily videos, instead.<\/p>\n<p>Moral of the story:<\/p>\n<p>Ain&#8217;t no one-size-fits-all.<\/p>\n<p>And also, it all reminds me of this quote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cHunt what you know how to catch\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Okay, on to bid\u2019niz:<\/p>\n<p>To learn the not-ancient-at-all mysteries of the way I do email, copywriting, selling, and persuasion, check out my \u201cEmail Players\u201d newsletter.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s expensive.<\/p>\n<p>It won\u2019t make you rich by next Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>(Wednesday, maybe, but not Tuesday)<\/p>\n<p>And, it\u2019s not for people who merely \u201cdabble\u201d in marketing.<\/p>\n<p>Next issue goes to print in 3 days.<\/p>\n<p>Subscribe here in time to get it:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.EmailPlayers.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.EmailPlayers.com<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>True story: I once talked with a guy with prostate cancer.
