Came a response to one of my emails last week:<\/p>\n
(About how I often choose people sometimes years in advance for roles they will play in my life \u2014 whether they be a customer, client, business partner, etc.)<\/p>\n
6:37 am<\/strong><\/p>\n
Subject: Get a life man!<\/strong><\/p>\n
[yawn] My 4 year old talks like you do<\/strong><\/p>\n
Get a life<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Then, just 15 minutes later, this one rolled in:<\/p>\n
Hey Ben,<\/strong><\/p>\n
How would you feel if I wrote an email to my list about THIS email.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Something like you had plans for me 5 years ago that I wasn’t even aware of.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Then talk about my success with the Ben Settle email plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n
And you could use it as a testimonial… and I could kill 2 birds with one stone!<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The first email was from some random troll.<\/p>\n
Probably someone seeking my attention.<\/p>\n
(I daresay he just got it\u2026)<\/p>\n
The second?<\/p>\n
From Doberman Dan Gallapoo\u2026 one of the world\u2019s top copywriting and marketing minds, former Gary Halbert apprentice (they lived together for 43 days working on various direct mail projects, etc), freelance copywriter for prestigious companies like Agora Financial, gotten testimonials from guys like Dan Kennedy, and the list goes on.<\/p>\n
Point is, success leaves clues.<\/p>\n
And, trolls do, too (like droppings).<\/p>\n
Kinda reminds me of a similar incident with the August 2014 \u201cEmail Players\u201d issue.<\/p>\n
One guy complained it wasn\u2019t worth the money etc (a guy known for sitting on the warrior forum all day)\u2026 and another (Pete Godfrey, one of Australia\u2019s top copywriters) talked about how much money that issue made him because he, you know, applied the info.<\/p>\n
Anyway, here\u2019s the point:<\/p>\n
If you\u2019ve ever been tempted to troll me, I hope you do it.<\/p>\n
Really, do. it.<\/p>\n
I can always use the fodder.<\/p>\n
But, I would also advise you to think carefully, first.<\/p>\n
Which of the above guys do you want to be like?<\/p>\n
Mr. 4-year old daughter troll?<\/p>\n
Or a guy like Doberman Dan?<\/p>\n
A warrior forum chatter?<\/p>\n
Or a guy like Pete Godfrey?<\/p>\n
Just another random guy looking for attention or to blame someone for their problems or to get some of the evil out by randomly trolling elBenbo?<\/p>\n
Or someone who implements, makes sales, and is successful?<\/p>\n
If you\u2019re the former and a loser, well, happy trolling.<\/p>\n
I will simply make you my unofficial marketing “intern” as I use your email to make sales with.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a great \u201cjumping on\u201d issue for people new to my world.<\/p>\n
