On the plane ride home this week I finally saw a movie I am socking myself for not seeing earlier:<\/p>\n
\u201cCreed\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Oh how I dig on this movie!<\/p>\n Not just because I\u2019m a huge \u201cRocky\u201d movie fan\u2026 or because Apollo Creed is one of my all-time favorite movie characters\u2026 or because Stallone is brilliant in it. But also because of all the success principles embedded inside the movie. They are classic Rocky movie themes. But, this character (Apollo Creed\u2019s love child wanting to prove he wasn’t a mistake) is plagued by a whole different set of demons than Rocky was. I won\u2019t give any spoilers. But, there\u2019s one line of advice from Rocky in the movie that can make you successful at ANYTHING you want in life \u2014 yes, especially email copywriting:<\/p>\n ‘One Step, One Punch, One Round at a Time\u2019<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Soooo simple, isn\u2019t it.<\/p>\n So non-goo-roo-ey.<\/p>\n So non-sexy, non-ninja, non-epic.<\/p>\n Yet, Rocky keeps Adonis on track and competing with far better, more experienced, and more naturally gifted fighters with those words. And now, my dear little fledging, elBenbo is giving you the same advice when you\u2019re writing emails:<\/p>\n ‘One Step, One Punch, One Round at a Time\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n Don\u2019t get overwhelmed with panic over a blank page.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t get bogged down with pointless metrics unrelated to ROI.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t worry about what anyone thinks of your opinions or ideas.<\/p>\n Just one step, one punch, one round at a time.<\/p>\n Open your computer and start writing (one step), soon a story or theme will emerge (one punch), send it to your list (one round).
