A doctor protests yesterday’s “mouth breather” email:<\/p>\n
\u201cinteresting email. but as a myofunctionally therapist trained person, I must protest the use of the term mouth breather for an online schlub. please look up mouthbreathing and all the health problems associated with it, and realize that myofucntional therapists spend a lot of time trying to help people stop this habit\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Of course, I had to ask:<\/p>\n
\u201cDo all myofunctional therapists\u00a0have trouble reading emails in context\u00a0or just you\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Sheesh.<\/p>\n
The ease at which people are offended is matched only by their refusal to read in context.<\/p>\n
And you know what?<\/p>\n
If you aren\u2019t careful (and this is especially true of people new to my wicked ways with emails), it\u2019s very easy to start supplicating and apologizing and changing things to appease the whims of the complainers (especially when they are blatantly taking things out of context — and know it), protestors, and other people always looking for a new monster to shriek at.<\/p>\n
I can assure if you do, you\u2019ll make less sales.<\/p>\n
Get less respect (nobody respects a poosy, oh noes\u2026 I just offended someone’s cat AND spelling nazis with that one).<\/p>\n
And, just get *more* complaining, protesting, shrieking \u2014 as once you apologize for one frivolous offense, the demands for more frivolous apologies will pile up so high you\u2019ll need wings to stay above them.<\/p>\n
