{"id":11052,"date":"2016-07-30T06:30:31","date_gmt":"2016-07-30T13:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=11052"},"modified":"2016-07-30T06:30:31","modified_gmt":"2016-07-30T13:30:31","slug":"feeeeel-the-benhoven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/feeeeel-the-benhoven\/","title":{"rendered":"Feeeeel The Benhoven"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of my favorite inspirational movies is called:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u201cWarrior\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s about how two estranged brothers end up competing in the same MMA tournament \u2014 and I dig it quite a bit. Not only because I think it\u2019s a fun movie, but also because of the multiple business lessons embedded throughout.<\/p>\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n<p>The older brother\u2019s trainer makes his fighters listen to Beethoven\u2019s music to help them stay focused and relaxed in combat. (There\u2019s a lot of truth to this \u2014 also works for writing, taking tests, or any other kind of stressful task where you normally clam up).<\/p>\n<p>My favorite line of the movie is when trainer says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cYou gotta relax and stay calm in there. The cage is your home. You set the pace. You set the rhythm. Feel the Beethoven. Be smarter than him, more patient. Wait for him to make a mistake. And when he does, that&#8217;s your moment.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ooh yeah, baby!<\/p>\n<p>And you know what?<\/p>\n<p>This works even better when writing emails.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of people get goosed up at the mere *thought* of writing.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhat do I write?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat if what I write sucks?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat if nobody bothers reading it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat if I can\u2019t think of any good ideas?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat if it doesn\u2019t convert?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat if it sounds stoopid?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Knock that sad sack nonsense off.<\/p>\n<p>Henceforth, when writing emails I want you to feel the BENhoven \u2014 relax, realize YOU control the page and set the pace (after all, you can write whatever you want, there is no reason to be stressed about it \u2014 it\u2019s your \u201cworld\u201d), be smart, be patient, let the ideas come to you, and they will. Imagine me perched on your shoulder, whispering sweetly into your ear to calm down, pluck this idea or that idea out of your head and onto the page, have fun, and, no matter what, just keep writing \u2014 the rest will take care of itself.<\/p>\n<p>Yes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Feeeeeel the BENhoven.<\/p>\n<p>Let it guide your fingers as you type.<\/p>\n<p>It works.<\/p>\n<p>And, it works even better with my \u201cEmail Players\u201d methodology.<\/p>\n<p>The next issue shows you a secret way of using Google to get some of the most profitable ideas, themes, subject lines, and anything else you need. The great Dan Kennedy once said if you did nothing but this you could become wealthy. And I will add, write wealth-creating emails.
