{"id":11098,"date":"2016-08-17T06:30:04","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T13:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=11098"},"modified":"2016-08-17T06:30:04","modified_gmt":"2016-08-17T13:30:04","slug":"weird-writing-habits-that-get-the-job-done","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/weird-writing-habits-that-get-the-job-done\/","title":{"rendered":"Weird Writing Habits That Get The Job Done"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got an email yesterday from a bloke wanting me to talk more about \u201cwriting\u201d and not so much mindset, marketing, persuasion, selling, yada yada yada.<\/p>\n<p>Sigh.<\/p>\n<p>As you wish, my little fledgling.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some not-so-interesting (and kinda weird) writing habits I have.<\/p>\n<p>Your milage may vary using them.<\/p>\n<p>So, do with this info what you will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>I write my novels in bed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>I often listen to the same song on a continuous loop while writing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>I think way faster than I can type so my first drafts (of any writing \u2014 novels, emails, sales letters, and on on, and so forth) are unreadable and unintelligible to anyone but me<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>I\u2019m paranoid about boring people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>I\u2019m even more paranoid about boring myself<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>I can write okay but I suck at spelling so I don\u2019t worry about spelling words<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>I can speak okay but suck at pronunciation so I don\u2019t worry about how I\u2019m pronouncing words<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>To motivate myself I simply remember 99% of people aren\u2019t willing to write an email designed to sell their product every day \u2014 they could if they wanted to (lame excuses notwithstanding), but they won\u2019t, so there really is no competition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>I am not afraid to use the pronoun \u201cI\u201d in my emails and copy\u2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That\u2019s it for today.<\/p>\n<p>To learn my wicked email ways, go here:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.EmailPlayers.com\"><strong>www.EmailPlayers.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got an email yesterday from a bloke wanting me to talk more about \u201cwriting\u201d and not so much mindset, marketing, persuasion, selling, yada yada yada.
