You&#8217;re A Sleazy Salesman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got inspired to watch one of my favorite movies again recently:<\/p>\n<p>(yes I wrote about this not too long ago)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u201cThe Wolf Of Wall Street\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And, while watching the scene where Jordan Belfort is training his rag-tag team of new salesmen there was something he said that can put a lot more sales (ethically, not the way he did it) in your hot, sticky little piggy bank using email. He was talking about objections people would have to buying their shady stocks.<\/p>\n<p>His answer:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cThe only real objection they have is they don\u2019t trust you guys. And why should they trust you? I mean look at you, you\u2019re a bunch of sleazy salesman right?! \u00a0So what do you say?\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ah yes, the big question.<\/p>\n<p>How do you get people to trust your righteous self?<\/p>\n<p>Well, I have long believed that in emails, you shouldn\u2019t have any objections or trust issues because you should be wise enough not to create them in the first place like most people do. What I mean by that is, coming out swinging pitching with benefits, claims, promises, etc.<\/p>\n<p>All that does is create objections that you have to deal with.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s better?<\/p>\n<p>Creating a rock-solid personal brand people either love or hate *before* they see anything to buy from you.<\/p>\n<p>Meaning, if you have an offer someone wants, they already trust you.<\/p>\n<p>You don&#8217;t have to goose around with manipulation tactics.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to learn how to build a personal brand that is so strong people buy from you sight unseen, because they feel they truly know you (and in a way, they do, even if you\u2019ve never met), and are 100% secure buying from you, even if you make claims that are hard to believe\u2026 then the best personal branders to study are NOT people on social media.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re good for a few laughs, maybe.<\/p>\n<p>But, that\u2019s about all.<\/p>\n<p>No, study people who have world famous personal brands:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Walt Disney<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Oprah Winfrey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dr. Atkins<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Stephen King<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Thomas Kincaid (the painter)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Dennis Rodman<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hillary (and Bill)\u00a0Clinton<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Donald Trump<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>And, yes, my pal Jesus Christ.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You don\u2019t have to *like* any of them.<\/p>\n<p>You might even be given to hating some of them.<\/p>\n<p>(I think a few of the above are giant turds, personally.)<\/p>\n<p>But, chances are, hearing their names triggers an instant \u201cooh yeah!\u201d or a \u201cugh, I can\u2019t stand that person!\u201d which is exactly how you know you have a strong personal brand.
