{"id":11221,"date":"2016-09-27T06:30:58","date_gmt":"2016-09-27T13:30:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=11221"},"modified":"2016-09-27T06:30:58","modified_gmt":"2016-09-27T13:30:58","slug":"shallow-dive-surveys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/shallow-dive-surveys\/","title":{"rendered":"Shallow Dive Surveys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here\u2019s something to ponder:<\/p>\n<p>My pal (and sometimes business partner) Ryan Levesque has formulated a brilliant way of using surveys to draw information out of a market.<\/p>\n<p>I have never really seen anything quite like it before.<\/p>\n<p>And, it\u2019s some of the most valuable info you can have.<\/p>\n<p>(I\u2019ve seen some of the magic he\u2019s done with it, it\u2019s quite brilliant.)<\/p>\n<p>One of the terms he uses is doing a \u201cdeep dive\u201d survey which lets you get deep into your market\u2019s psychology and hot buttons (amongst other things) to pull out what they really want and what kind of offers to sell them without guessing.<\/p>\n<p>I highly recommend learning this.<\/p>\n<p>And, he deserves major props for even making his methods public.<\/p>\n<p>But\u2026<\/p>\n<p>(There\u2019s always a \u201cbut\u201d, isn\u2019t there?)<\/p>\n<p>That said, there is also a time to do what I would call a \u201cshallow dive\u201d survey. This is pretty much what a lot of old school direct mail companies who built the entire direct response marketing industry do and have done for the last 100 years of direct response.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also 100% elBenbo-proof.<\/p>\n<p>i.e. anyone can do it.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve used this to figure out what to sell people for the last 14 years and have (mostly) never sold a product to my lists they didn\u2019t already want me to sell them \u2014 all from asking a couple questions in one of these \u201cshallow dive\u201d surveys.
