I simply introduced them to the community via my podcast, newsletter, emails, etc. I take no credit for it other than to expose Mr. Jim Camp\u2019s ideas to world of people who desperately need it.<\/p>\n<p>That said:<\/p>\n<p>I have also noticed \u201csuddenly\u201d people acting as if they did invent these ideas.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cPrinciples vs tactics, man! It\u2019s so RAD and BAD ASS!\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yet, they rarely (if ever) give Jim Camp the credit for it.<\/p>\n<p>And, the people I\u2019ve seen talk about it still have no clue what they\u2019re talking about. They simply haven\u2019t thought about it deeply enough \u2014 and seem incapable of thinking beyond the shallow.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, instead of going deep, it\u2019s:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. See new idea that seems popular and trendy<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. Parrot it<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. *Try* (emphasis on try) to teach it to their clueless \u201ctribes\u201d who don\u2019t know better and think that goo-roo invented it, and then they start parroting it to each other\u2026 until the next \u201cbadass\u201d thing comes along and it ceases being trendy<\/p>\n<p>Think I\u2019m exaggerating?<\/p>\n<p>Go ahead and watch.<\/p>\n<p>Give it a few months.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a phenomenon in the IM world that\u2019s as predictable as a new product launch every few months from the same gaggle of ex-spurts.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve seen it with email for 15 years now.<\/p>\n<p>One month everyone says email doesn\u2019t work, sucks for engagement, nobody is opening emails, Gmail is destroying it, the government is destroying it, Facebook\/social media is gonna kill it, whatever.<\/p>\n<p>The next month?<\/p>\n<p>Those same blokes are *teaching* it.<\/p>\n<p>Again, people in this space are simply incapable of thinking deeply about anything.<\/p>\n<p>Thinking is hard work, after all.<\/p>\n<p>And, it\u2019s even harder to stick with something when everyone is bandwagon jumping to something else.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, the few of us who do think and are committed, are always ahead of the curve.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to learn the timeless email copywriting methods I\u2019ve been using since long before email became trendy, then not trendy, then trendy again\u2026 and so on\u2026 check out my \u201cEmail Players\u201d newsletter.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s chock-full of powerful principles that always work.<\/p>\n<p>(And not just for email \u2014 but video, audio, anything).<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s where to subscribe:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.EmailPlayers.com\"><strong>www.EmailPlayers.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cEmail Players\u201d subscriber Michael Collins notices something I\u2019ve been highly amused by for several months now too: Seeing &#8220;principals vs tactics&#8221; EVERYWHERE now, I think your emails drip feeds the guru scene.
