A couple weekends ago I got into a bizarre discussion about necrophilia which is a condition that makes certain people want to have the sex with dead people.<\/p>\n
She told me there are entire reddits and chat rooms about this.<\/p>\n
These slobs are *only* attracted to dead bodies.<\/p>\n
(And, if you think THAT is strange, there are some only attracted to *skeletons*\u2026)<\/p>\n
Instead of chasing skirts, they chase corpses.<\/p>\n
And, yes, they horrify everyone around them.<\/p>\n
“elBenbo wtf are you telling me about this???”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Patience, my Plaything. Patience.<\/p>\n
As is sometimes the case, I have a reason for this.<\/p>\n
And that is, during the entire conversation (when I didn\u2019t want to throw up) I kept thinking about certain people in the marketing world who can\u2019t help themselves to chase down long-dead marketing tactics \u2014 while ignoring the live methods that make sales \u2014 that not only don\u2019t work, but make people think they are nutzo for chasing them at all.<\/p>\n
Take this guy I know I will call the SEO guy.<\/p>\n
For him it\u2019s ALL about SEO.<\/p>\n
He *still* insists many long-dead SEO tactics that worked in the early 2000\u2019s (including some I used that haven\u2019t worked at all since Google slapped article directories) is the best way to get traffic when they demonstrably don\u2019t.<\/p>\n
Doesn\u2019t matter, though.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s addicted to the dead SEO shtick.<\/p>\n
And, nothing I or anyone else tells him (including his low traffic numbers) sways him.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t know if I have any other point to this.<\/p>\n
Or, if it adds to your life in any way.<\/p>\n
But, there it is.<\/p>\n
One thing I focus on with \u201cEmail Players\u201d is evergreen, ever-living, dare I say *immortal* email principles and ideas that worked when email was first invented and will work for many decades to come.<\/p>\n
What can I say?<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t dig on necrophilia.<\/p>\n
Not with my chicks, and not with my marketing\u2026<\/p>\n
