It\u2019s a good question, too. And, since it is so common, I figure it\u2019ll be easier to answer it publicly and archive on my blog. That way, when it comes again (and it will) I can simply send people a link to my answer.<\/p>\n<p>(Killing two vultures with one sling shot.)<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here\u2019s the question:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Hi Ben,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I have an old list that I&#8217;ve generated before (2 years ago), how can I reconnect to that old list and use the principles in The Email Player&#8217;s Playbook? What should I email them?<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>My answer:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. Create a new opt in page for them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. Send them an email saying you are going to be mailing them again, and how frequently, come up with a hot opt in bribe. Ideally, the bribe should be something with a for real high retail value any sane lead would be dumb not to opt in for.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. Mail that list as many times as you\u2019re comfortable sending them to that new opt in page.<\/p>\n<p>What should happen is this:<\/p>\n<p>Those who opt-in are your living leads.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t expect miracles, though. And, don\u2019t be shocked if you get spam complaints.
