{"id":12594,"date":"2017-12-13T07:34:50","date_gmt":"2017-12-13T15:34:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=12594"},"modified":"2017-12-13T07:34:50","modified_gmt":"2017-12-13T15:34:50","slug":"things-you-should-worry-about","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/things-you-should-worry-about\/","title":{"rendered":"Things You Probably Should Worry About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cEmail Players\u201d subscriber Paul Mort recently posted a graphic on Facebook about weight lawss that has some obvious email marketing implications if you have eyes to hear and ears to see.<\/p>\n<p>The graphic had two columns.<\/p>\n<p>The first column said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cThings you\u2019ll probably never need to worry about\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Then listed off a long list of several jargon-y things people who obsess over getting into shape read &amp; talk about \u2014 like meal timing, \u201cstarvation mode\u201d, GI index, \u201csugar addiction\u201d, a slow metabolism, adrenal fatigue, eating \u201cclean\u201d, and so on and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>Then, the other column said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cThings you probably should worry about\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And then listed off a short list of things that matter most \u2014 like sleep, eating enough protein, eating enough vegetables, staying hydrated, stress, and being more active.<\/p>\n<p>Followed by:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cConsistently work on these and you\u2019ll probably never have to worry about anything else to do with getting in shape\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The point?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the same with emails.<\/p>\n<p>While the goo-roo fanboys spend weeks on the &#8220;fine motor&#8221; elements of whatever the bright flashing lights and fun sounds are in the goo-roo casino&#8230; like creating a complex \u201cOMG! FUNNEL!\u201d on a big white board that\u2019s got more circles than an MLM presentation\u2026 freaking out if their open rates dropped by .001%\u2026 spending hours making sure they\u2019ve inserted NLP into every sentence\u2026 weeping &amp; gnashing their teeth comparing their opt in rates to everyone else\u2019s\u2026 and obsessing over if they should open a loop in their copy\u2026 you can blow right by them by spending your time on the \u201ccompound\u201d elements of what really works:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating an opt in list \u201cprimed\u201d to want what you have<\/li>\n<li>Producing attractive offers your list already wants<\/li>\n<li>Relentless daily emails designed to sell, but that also build a relationship with your list<\/li>\n<li>Selling those buyers other things they want<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rinse, repeat.<\/p>\n<p>Over and over and over.<\/p>\n<p>Do this day in and day out, and I don\u2019t think it\u2019s even possible to fail.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I realize this email will not be secksy enough for the goo-roo fanboys stuck on pursuing fine motor metrics vs compound actions, and therefore cheerfully making a fraction of what they could be making.
