This last weekend I saw an interesting list of vices on Twitter (by a guy named Michael Medici), in order of how destructive they are.<\/p>\n
It started with meth.<\/p>\n
Then went through the other hard drugs (heroin, cocaine, etc)<\/p>\n
Then into things like alcohol and sugar.<\/p>\n
Then into sites like Netflix and social media.<\/p>\n
My first thought after reading that list was:<\/p>\n
\u201cEmail, too, when done right\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Like it or lump it, mails can create a chemical addiction of sorts in your brain (and if you find yourself incessantly checking your emails all day, you\u2019re already addicted, Chuckles). And, also when done right, people will not only need their \u201cfix\u201d of you each day, but they\u2019ll even get a bit concerned (maybe even worried) when they don\u2019t hear from you for a day or two. (I didn\u2019t coin the term \u201cyour daily email addiction\u201d and display it at the top of my blog for nuttin\u2019)<\/p>\n
Scoff at that if you want.<\/p>\n
But, it happens to people I teach all the time.<\/p>\n
It can happen with your emails, too.<\/p>\n
