\u201cBen why do you use plain text email and not html? how do you track opens and clicks or does that not matter to you?\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
A few things:<\/p>\n
1. No, it doesn\u2019t matter to me. There are reasons to track these things, but they don’t apply to my simple business model or goals.<\/p>\n
2. The me-to-thee look \u2014 A-pile vs B-pile — has always done better for me, in every niche\/market I’ve sold in. And, that might<\/em> be because…<\/p>\n
3. The paranoia factor<\/p>\n

There is a reason why Android phones and even some popular desktop mail programs have HTML turned off by default \u2014 because of how easy it is to get viruses. All it takes is just clicking on a crazy link (so I hear, at least) to get a virus or whatever.<\/p>\n
And, like it or not, rational or not, a lot of people worry about this.<\/p>\n
But, not with my emails.<\/p>\n
Because they\u2019re plain text.<\/p>\n
So, for those types (a growing number) it\u2019s a trust-building thing.<\/p>\n
