Some said it&#8217;s Matt Furey, some said you&#8217;re Gary Bencivenga&#8217;s prodigy&#8230;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I\u2019ve never had a one-on-one mentor, coach, or anyone like that.<\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;ve never been anyone&#8217;s prodigy, either.<\/p>\n<p>For the past 20 years, I\u2019ve learned from many different business, marketing, copywriting, and persuasion minds &#8212; only 2 or 3 I&#8217;ve met in person. Call them &#8220;virtual mentors&#8221; if&#8217;n it pleases you. And, I even did a podcast series about this last Summer about my \u201cMount Rushmore\u201d of influences. But, all of my learning and training has been \u201cvirtual\u201d \u2014 via info products, and not personal coaching, consulting, seminars, workshops, or events which I never attend unless I am speaking\/training there.<\/p>\n<p>And even those I am starting to turn down more and more.<\/p>\n<p>Especially since plane travel is becoming intolerable to the point where I find airports only slightly less depressing than casinos.<\/p>\n<p>That said, some of the great men of business &amp; marketing who\u2019ve influenced me most include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matt Furey<\/li>\n<li>Gary Bencivenga<\/li>\n<li>Gary Halbert<\/li>\n<li>Ken McCarthy<\/li>\n<li>Dan Kennedy<\/li>\n<li>Jim Camp<\/li>\n<li>Brian Kurtz<\/li>\n<li>Earl Nightingale<\/li>\n<li>Gene Schwartz<\/li>\n<li>Sean D&#8217;Souza<\/li>\n<li>Clayton Makepeace<\/li>\n<li>John Carlton<\/li>\n<li>Bruce Barton<\/li>\n<li>Stan Lee<\/li>\n<li>Paul Hartunian<\/li>\n<li>Stan Billue<\/li>\n<li>Barry Maher<\/li>\n<li>Jim Straw<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I probably am missing a few, in fact, I know I am.<\/p>\n<p>(Writing this fast&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>But, basically, it&#8217;s all the people who have most changed, enhanced, or given me the most dramatic options for thinking differently that resulted in the most impact.
