{"id":14399,"date":"2020-05-25T16:40:58","date_gmt":"2020-05-25T23:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=14399"},"modified":"2020-05-25T16:40:58","modified_gmt":"2020-05-25T23:40:58","slug":"how-to-profit-from-low-iq-swipers-who-only-know-how-to-steal-sales-copy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/how-to-profit-from-low-iq-swipers-who-only-know-how-to-steal-sales-copy\/","title":{"rendered":"How To Profit From Low IQ Swipers Who Only Know How To Steal Sales Copy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I\u2019ve been going through one of Frank Sinatra\u2019s biographies (called \u201cFrank: The Voice\u201d) and it\u2019s a fascinating book and very useful for marketers in my opinion.<\/p>\n<p>And in some ways, it\u2019s even more useful for copywriters.<\/p>\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n<p>When Frank was making his way up the food chain singing for free and taking any gigs he could to keep honing &amp; excelling at singing, it did not take all that long for him to start making a name and distinct brand for himself.<\/p>\n<p>As the book says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cSinatra was different and he knew it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite his Hoboken accent \u2014 that people didn\u2019t really life apparently \u2014 and the fact he was the complete opposite of the singer who was \u201cin\u201d Bing Crosby, he started gaining a passionate following of fans, club owners, and, of course, chicks who couldn\u2019t get enough of him.<\/p>\n<p>All those copycats aping Crosby were helping Frank out without realizing it.<\/p>\n<p>And they were doing it by making it abundantly obvious Frank was truly unique in a sea of sameness.<\/p>\n<p>So it is in copywriting.<\/p>\n<p>I remember the first time I read the late, great Gary Halbert\u2019s book \u201cThe Boron Letters\u201d being fascinating by what he wrote about copying world class ads out in your own hand to get a neurological feel for what it\u2019s like to write world class copy.<\/p>\n<p>And he specifically said, yes, you will start to sound like whoever you are copying.<\/p>\n<p>But, he also said your own peculiarities will eventually emerge.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, a lot of copywriters clearly didn\u2019t read that second part.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, I\u2019ve seen all kinds of sales letters &amp; ads \u2014 and this goes triple for emails, where it\u2019s incessant \u2014 blatantly copying not just my style, but my obnoxious Midwest ways of phrasing certain things, and even whole paragraphs of copy, all out of context, and in a way that is truly cringeworthy.<\/p>\n<p>These clearly low IQ idiots probably think they are \u201cgetting away\u201d with something.<\/p>\n<p>But they ain\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>All they are doing is making it easier for copywriters who aren\u2019t lazy bums like they are to stand out, make more sales, and build brands that stick out like an honest man in Washington D.C.<\/p>\n<p>Which brings me to the punchline:<\/p>\n<p>The June 2020 \u201cEmail Players\u201d issue.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all about the purely writing side of copywriting.<\/p>\n<p>It can be applied to emails, sales letters, scrips, even content writing.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve never taught this info before, yet have been using it for the past 18 years to bang out all kind of ad copy that has made a whole lot of clients (and myself, of course) a whole lot of rupees.<\/p>\n<p>To get this issue before the deadline, go here immediately:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.EmailPlayers.com\"><strong>www.EmailPlayers.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I\u2019ve been going through one of Frank Sinatra\u2019s biographies (called \u201cFrank: The Voice\u201d) and it\u2019s a fascinating book and very useful for marketers in my opinion.
