{"id":1474,"date":"2009-02-02T17:59:02","date_gmt":"2009-02-02T17:59:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=1474"},"modified":"2009-02-02T17:59:02","modified_gmt":"2009-02-02T17:59:02","slug":"5-sexy-sales-letter-secrets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/5-sexy-sales-letter-secrets\/","title":{"rendered":"5 &#8220;Sexy&#8221; Sales Letter Secrets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How&#8217;d you like that Superbowl last night?<\/p>\n<p>Pretty sweet, eh?<\/p>\n<p>Reminded me a LOT of legendary coach Vince Lombardi.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Lombardi&#8217;s players used to perform what seemed like &#8220;miracles&#8221; on the football field.<\/p>\n<p>And yet, nothing he taught them (as far as I know) was &#8220;sexy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Instead, he simply drilled the fundamentals over and over into his players&#8217; brains until it was like second nature for &#8217;em.<\/p>\n<p>And you want to know something?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the same with winning in **copywriting**, too.<\/p>\n<p>It almost defies belief how much people complicate copywriting with stoopid manipulation and so-called &#8220;black hat&#8221; tricks.<\/p>\n<p>So today I am going to simplify things with what I call: <strong>&#8220;The 5 Secrets Of Sexy Sales Letters&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And while most other copywriters and marketers probably won&#8217;t find these secrets very sexy&#8230; your skeptical, over-marketed-to CUSTOMERS will.<\/p>\n<p>Are you ready?<\/p>\n<p>Okay then, here we go&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.  Be Empathetic &#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve said it before&#8230; I&#8217;ll say it again:<\/p>\n<p>The more you CARE about people, the more moolah you&#8217;ll make.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, caring about those you sell to (as if they are family members or good friends) is numero uno.  <\/p>\n<p>Get this part right, and everything else falls in place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.  Solve A Problem &#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the end of the day, THIS is what selling is all about:<\/p>\n<p>Solving problems.  <\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s your customer&#8217;s MAIN, most PRESSING problem? <\/p>\n<p>And how does your product solve it?  <\/p>\n<p>Learn how to dig up your market&#8217;s problems (especially the ones they don&#8217;t talk about) and you almost can&#8217;t fail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.  Tell A Story &#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once you know what the main problem is, it&#8217;s time to tell a story about how you (or someone else) solved it.<\/p>\n<p>And, of course, solved it using your product or service \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.  Create vision &#8212;<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>As negotiation &#8220;wizard&#8221; Jim Camp teaches: <\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Vision Drives Decision.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The more people SEE&#8230; and FEEL&#8230; what it&#8217;s like using your product (or the pain and carnage that results from them NOT using it) the more you will sell. <\/p>\n<p><strong>5.  Be Credible &#8212; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You don&#8217;t see many Internet sales letters using it&#8230; but credibility is <em>everything<\/em>.   <\/p>\n<p>Nobody buys without belief.  <\/p>\n<p>And nobody believes you if you aren&#8217;t credible.  <\/p>\n<p>So the more credibility you put in your ads, the more successful you will (automatically) be.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, these aren&#8217;t the world&#8217;s sexiest copywriting secrets.<\/p>\n<p>They sure as heck ain&#8217;t &#8220;rocket science&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>But I&#8217;d bet you 90% of your competitors are NOT using them all.<\/p>\n<p>Which means you can kick some major <em>rumpus<\/em> if YOU do.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n<p><strong>P.S<\/strong>.
