{"id":14770,"date":"2022-01-30T16:36:41","date_gmt":"2022-01-31T00:36:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=14770"},"modified":"2022-01-30T16:36:41","modified_gmt":"2022-01-31T00:36:41","slug":"when-you-can-only-handle-so-much-low-iq-before-cracking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/when-you-can-only-handle-so-much-low-iq-before-cracking\/","title":{"rendered":"When You Can Only Handle So Much Low IQ Before Cracking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently my biz partner in all-things software Troy Broussard sent me this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>This ex-client of mine&#8230; former coaching client&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Texts me out of the blue and is about to publish his book and asks me about QR codes&#8230; I tell him about RedirectMe&#8230; perfect for what he needs and perfect timing&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He starts asking me all kinds of questions&#8230;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014&gt; I copy\/paste images of the answers on the sales page&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He asks another&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014&gt; I say &#8220;read the sales page&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He then starts to argue about why he needs to spend $20&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014&gt;\u00a0\u201cDude, you texted me and asked ME what to do\u2026 I told you\u2026 now you\u2019re arguing over $20 with me\u2026 GO AWAY\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I&#8217;m becoming very Ben-esque&#8230; lol<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>GO AWAY\u2026<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>High IQ guys like Troy (literally was a Navy nuclear engineer) can only handle so much low IQ behavior before cracking.<\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s always fun to listen to him rant about such things.<\/p>\n<p>But as I told him:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cYou will officially achieve peak Settle when you not only ignore out-of-the-blue texts altogether, but don&#8217;t even know who sent them&#8230;because you had already long removed them from your phone\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And so it is.<\/p>\n<p>Something else:<\/p>\n<p>One of the reasons for my \u201cno coming back\u201d rule with people who leave Email Players is not because I\u2019m so hog nasty rich I want to turn away new business. It\u2019s because 9 out of 10 times they have the same mentality as Troy\u2019s ex-customer above.<\/p>\n<p>Doesn\u2019t make \u2018em bad people.<\/p>\n<p>Just makes \u2018em terrible customers for my particular offers.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why I am grateful for all the cheap competition out there:<\/p>\n<p>Every ecosystem needs scavengers (carp, catfish, etc).<\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s always good when those who leave my world \u201cfloat\u201d down to the bottom where those scavengers are. I certainly don\u2019t want them anymore (if they weren\u2019t intelligent\/ambitious\/interested enough to use the info before, they won\u2019t later, so what is the point?)
