A lot of people are obsessed with algorithms.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo this, on YouTube!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBetter do that on Twitter!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you don\u2019t do this the algorithms will punish you!\u201d<\/p>\n
My attitude?<\/p>\n
Screw \u2018em.<\/p>\n
Chasing big tech algorithms makes about as much sense as a guy chasing the moods & manipulations of a woman with borderline personality disorder. It\u2019s nothing but a recipe for frustration & maybe even destruction for most, with the exception of people who just love the game and play it well. And those people are few & far in between.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s better?<\/p>\n
Flip the script.<\/p>\n
i.e., use your email list to have the algorithms chase you instead.<\/p>\n
Example:<\/p>\n
If you have a list of 5,000 email subscribers and send them your YouTube page, and 100 of those people organically engage with, like, share, comment on, subscribe… and then those comments beget comments, shares, likes, whatever\u2026 you’re not reacting to the algorithm.<\/p>\n
The algorithm’ll begin reacting to you.<\/p>\n
Moral of the story:<\/p>\n
Email = can be the ultimate equalizer.<\/p>\n
Assuming you have an email list.<\/p>\n
And assuming you mail it.<\/p>\n
So if you don’t have one, start building it.<\/p>\n
If you do have one, start growing it.<\/p>\n
And send forth your horde to like, comment, engage, etc with your content.<\/p>\n
