{"id":1680,"date":"2009-03-25T16:36:51","date_gmt":"2009-03-25T16:36:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=1680"},"modified":"2009-03-25T16:36:51","modified_gmt":"2009-03-25T16:36:51","slug":"computer-scientist-uses-cartoons-to-write-ads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/computer-scientist-uses-cartoons-to-write-ads\/","title":{"rendered":"Computer Scientist Uses Cartoons To Write Ads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Got something really cool to share today.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a &#8220;snippet&#8221; of an email my friend and AdWords<em> &#8220;scientist&#8221; <\/em>(literally &#8212; he&#8217;s a computer scientist) <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.JimYaghi.com\">Jim Yaghi<\/a><\/strong> sent me yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here&#8217;s the story:<\/p>\n<p>I had sent him my <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.CopywritingGrabBag.com\">copywriting book<\/a><\/strong> and (in passing) mentioned how I use the comic book ads included on the CD to write lots and lots of different AdWords ads.<\/p>\n<p>As certain comic book ads make great AdWords ad &#8220;templates.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s when he emailed me an <strong>AWESOME<\/strong> copywriting tip I&#8217;d never even thought of before.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A tip that&#8217;s <em>already<\/em> making writing ads far easier.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In fact, I found it so valuable, I asked if I could share it.<\/p>\n<p>He gave me the &#8220;green light&#8221; and so here we go&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nHey Ben,<\/p>\n<p>thanks a lot for that!   awesome. I actually use cartoons when trying to come up with graphical descriptions for that very reason. They also allow you to tap into a prospect&#8217;s inner child as they remember images like &#8220;seeing stars&#8221; when hit on the head, or the bump that grows on someone&#8217;s head when hit by a hammer, or the way people drift on the scent of sizzling sausages \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>jim\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pretty cool, eh?<\/p>\n<p>This is extremely valuable advice.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s especially handy when you can&#8217;t think of a unique way to describe something.<\/p>\n<p>So thank you Jim!<\/p>\n<p>And by the way, if you do PPC check out <strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.JimYaghi.com\" rel=\"noopener\">Jim&#8217;s site<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s a computer scientist who figured out some &#8220;back door&#8221; ways of using AdWords you will probably not hear anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n<p><strong>P.S.<\/strong> BTW, if you have already bought <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.CopywritingGrabBag.com\">The Copywriting Grab Bag<\/a><\/strong> and are using AdWords, check out the <em>comic book ads<\/em> on the CD.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been using them to bang out hundreds of different ads very quickly.<\/p>\n<p>Those old time comic book ad writers really understood how to write powerful ads that <em>seep<\/em> right into a person&#8217;s psychology and brain in just a few lines.<\/p>\n<p>And they make a great PPC ad &#8220;swipe file.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Got something really cool to share today.
