{"id":17721,"date":"2025-05-16T00:45:02","date_gmt":"2025-05-16T00:45:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=17721"},"modified":"2025-05-16T00:45:02","modified_gmt":"2025-05-16T00:45:02","slug":"how-to-get-people-chemically-addicted-to-buying-your-offers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/how-to-get-people-chemically-addicted-to-buying-your-offers\/","title":{"rendered":"How to get people chemically addicted to buying your offers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Below is my latest article in the newspaper I have ownership in (the Oregon Eagle) where I write a column for local businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The title:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u201cHow to (legally) get people chemically addicted to buying from you\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here goes\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>For the last 14 years I\u2019ve had the following tagline on my website:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cYour Daily Email Addiction\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Which is literally true.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And the reason it\u2019s literally true is because, if you write emails the way I\u2019ll show you in this article, you really can get people legally (and ethically) chemically addicted to reading emails selling your products or services. I\u2019ve done this across multiple niches\/industries\/product categories for nearly 25 years. And I have taught thousands of others how to do the same in over 50 countries. I say that because most everyone thinks \u201ctheir business\u201d is different.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>No.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The way human beings make buying decisions is identical across all countries, cultures, and industries. And I\u2019m going to show you how to prove it to yourself now.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Just realize this isn\u2019t an exhaustive email marketing training.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I just want to get you to the first \u201chorizon line\u201d from where you\u2019ll see further. For instance, I\u2019m staring at the ocean as I write this. And if I started walking towards the horizon line, I\u2019d eventually reach Japan which I cannot see from here. I can only see the horizon line. But when I reach that horizon, I\u2019ll see further. And from there I\u2019d see another horizon line from which I\u2019d again see further, and then another, and another, until, eventually, I\u2019d hit the Land of the Rising Sun.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>So it is learning email marketing in depth.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All right, enough build up. Here\u2019s what to do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Start collecting email addresses from leads (if you aren\u2019t already)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Send those leads an email every day (yes, seven days a week)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Do NOT blatantly pitch in those emails<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Instead, tell interesting &amp; relevant stories, give valuable tips, dispense useful advice, create checklists of things to do (or not do), answer FAQ\u2019s you get from customers\/clients, and share customer testimonials \u2014 all related to problems your product or service solves.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In other words, don\u2019t sell \u201cdrills\u201d\u2026 sell \u201choles\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you sell drills, the last thing you should do is pitch how wonderful your drills are. Instead, write about better ways to drill holes. Then, at the end of the email, after you\u2019ve demonstrated your hole-drilling genius to gain peoples\u2019 confidence in wanting to buy your drills, you show them where to learn more about your drills.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>So it is with your business:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask \u201chow can people better use\/apply\/benefit from what I sell?\u201d Then make a master list of every way you can think of. Then write an email every day about one of those ways, with a \u201ccommercial\u201d at the end telling people where to go (website, store, phone call, text, whatever it is\u2026) to learn more about your offer. Do it correctly and leads become literally addicted to reading your emails, as a pleasant dopamine drip hits their brain whenever they see an email from you talking about them and their problems. This work so reliably well it\u2019s even possible to see results in your bank account the first time you do it!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wait\u2026 what?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You don\u2019t have an email list?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All you have is maybe a list of addresses in your Outlook?
