I recently heard through the grapevine that there\u2019s a gaggle of young people in the marketing world who like to say I\u2019m \u201cold fashioned\u201d and \u201cout of touch\u201d and \u201cNGMI\u201d and other such things,<\/p>\n
And really, I don\u2019t think it\u2019s fair.<\/p>\n
I mean, those labels don\u2019t even BEGIN to describe me.<\/strong><\/p>\n In fact, following are some old timey day truisms I put far more stock into than any tactic, technique, or corporate CEO fan fiction-pushed technology. Many were coined\/practiced\/implemented by extremely successful men during some particularly brutally hard times.<\/p>\n i.e., famines, pestilences, depressions, & persecution – social, religious, or political.<\/p>\n Enjoy…<\/p>\n * You calm an angry woman down by asking if she’s hungry, you make a boring woman fun by asking if she’s thirsty<\/p>\n * It\u2019s easy to be a socialist with a roof over your head (and, I’d add, a $900 iPhone in your hand)<\/p>\n * The bigger the church hat, the more skeletons<\/p>\n * Bleeding hearts create bleeding bodies<\/p>\n * God doesn\u2019t send out beggars<\/p>\n * Just because I\u2019m a ____ doesn\u2019t mean I\u2019m not right<\/p>\n * You won\u2019t worry where you\u2019re next can of beans is coming from if you always have a can opener<\/p>\n * Don\u2019t hire a cowboy with bloody spurs<\/p>\n * The deep stuff is at the shallow end of the pool<\/p>\n * No persecution, no urgency<\/p>\n * Isn\u2019t there something better you could be doing?<\/p>\n * It\u2019s when your eyes are tired that your scalp’s in the most danger<\/p>\n * Fortune curses the procrastinator<\/p>\n * The touch of a master is like the weight of a mountain<\/p>\n * A lock easily opened by a lot of keys ain\u2019t a valuable lock<\/p>\n * If fish ain’t bitin’ throw \u2018em a little chum<\/p>\n * And, finally, my one contribution to this list:<\/p>\n \u201cYou can\u2019t kill a werewolf with a bitcoin\u201d<\/p>\n Enough stone soup for the soul.<\/p>\n More about the paid Email Players newsletter here:<\/p>\n
