{"id":18533,"date":"2026-01-27T22:48:38","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T22:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=18533"},"modified":"2026-01-27T22:48:38","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T22:48:38","slug":"how-to-calm-an-angry-woman-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/how-to-calm-an-angry-woman-down\/","title":{"rendered":"How to calm an angry woman down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently heard through the grapevine that there\u2019s a gaggle of young people in the marketing world who like to say I\u2019m \u201cold fashioned\u201d and \u201cout of touch\u201d and \u201cNGMI\u201d and other such things,<\/p>\n<p>And really, I don\u2019t think it\u2019s fair.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I mean, those labels don\u2019t even BEGIN to describe me.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In fact, following are some old timey day truisms I put far more stock into than any tactic, technique, or corporate CEO fan fiction-pushed technology. Many were coined\/practiced\/implemented by extremely successful men during some particularly brutally hard times.<\/p>\n<p>i.e., famines, pestilences, depressions, &amp; persecution &#8211; social, religious, or political.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>* You calm an angry woman down by asking if she&#8217;s hungry, you make a boring woman fun by asking if she&#8217;s thirsty<\/p>\n<p>* It\u2019s easy to be a socialist with a roof over your head (and, I&#8217;d add, a $900 iPhone in your hand)<\/p>\n<p>* The bigger the church hat, the more skeletons<\/p>\n<p>* Bleeding hearts create bleeding bodies<\/p>\n<p>* God doesn\u2019t send out beggars<\/p>\n<p>* Just because I\u2019m a ____ doesn\u2019t mean I\u2019m not right<\/p>\n<p>* You won\u2019t worry where you\u2019re next can of beans is coming from if you always have a can opener<\/p>\n<p>* Don\u2019t hire a cowboy with bloody spurs<\/p>\n<p>* The deep stuff is at the shallow end of the pool<\/p>\n<p>* No persecution, no urgency<\/p>\n<p>* Isn\u2019t there something better you could be doing?<\/p>\n<p>* It\u2019s when your eyes are tired that your scalp&#8217;s in the most danger<\/p>\n<p>* Fortune curses the procrastinator<\/p>\n<p>* The touch of a master is like the weight of a mountain<\/p>\n<p>* A lock easily opened by a lot of keys ain\u2019t a valuable lock<\/p>\n<p>* If fish ain&#8217;t bitin&#8217; throw \u2018em a little chum<\/p>\n<p>* And, finally, my one contribution to this list:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can\u2019t kill a werewolf with a bitcoin\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Enough stone soup for the soul.<\/p>\n<p>More about the paid Email Players newsletter here:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.BenSettle.com\/alt\"><strong>www.BenSettle.com\/alt<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently heard through the grapevine that there\u2019s a gaggle of young people in the marketing world who like to say I\u2019m \u201cold fashioned\u201d and \u201cout of touch\u201d and \u201cNGMI\u201d and other such things, And really, I don\u2019t think it\u2019s fair.
