{"id":2570,"date":"2009-11-02T07:40:24","date_gmt":"2009-11-02T15:40:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=2570"},"modified":"2009-11-02T07:40:24","modified_gmt":"2009-11-02T15:40:24","slug":"the-king-of-selling-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/the-king-of-selling-online\/","title":{"rendered":"The King Of Selling Online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many moons ago I did an email about the &#8220;king&#8221; of selling online.<\/p>\n<p>Remember that little ditty?<\/p>\n<p>Basically I said I do not believe teaching, giving value, creating content or copywriting are &#8220;king&#8221; of selling online &#8212; despite what some goo-roos say.  <\/p>\n<p>This then begged the question, what IS king?<\/p>\n<p>Since that time, many have sent me their guesses. <\/p>\n<p>And, I must say, they are ALL very good tries. <\/p>\n<p>Like, for example, someone said your <em>offer<\/em> is king.<\/p>\n<p>And your offer is HUGE, no doubt.  But the wrong offer sent to the wrong prospect usually won&#8217;t do much good, will it? <\/p>\n<p>Another astute subscriber said a &#8220;hungry crowd.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Important?<\/p>\n<p>VERY.<\/p>\n<p>But king?<\/p>\n<p>I say thee nay.<\/p>\n<p>Consider this:<\/p>\n<p>The golf market is the HOTTEST market I&#8217;ve ever seen.  It&#8217;s so <em>rabid<\/em> that, in a golf info publishing company I partner in, we once only had an order form up (no sales letter) and it was pulling lots of sales. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s THAT hungry a market.<\/p>\n<p>But, here&#8217;s the rub:<\/p>\n<p>I have a friend who had a golf site with a full sales letter with traffic, and he said he wasn&#8217;t making jack. So IMHO, a hungry market is not king, either <\/p>\n<p>(Especially if you ain&#8217;t the only &#8220;grocery store&#8221; in town).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Look, the real &#8220;king&#8221; is not necessarily obvious.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It actually transcends all the stuff we see in the old school marketing, sales and copywriting books. (In at least one instance it&#8217;s <em>frowned<\/em> upon by one of the old time masters.)<\/p>\n<p>Yet doing it today is (I believe) mandatory.<\/p>\n<p>Especially if you want to stick out like a sore thumb in your market.<\/p>\n<p>And especially if you want to make selling much easier (and even <em>fun<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>And guess what?<\/p>\n<p>This is the FIRST CD\/transcript lesson in my Crackerjack Selling CD Club (which launches tomorrow).
