{"id":2629,"date":"2009-11-16T09:06:25","date_gmt":"2009-11-16T17:06:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=2629"},"modified":"2009-11-16T09:06:25","modified_gmt":"2009-11-16T17:06:25","slug":"weird-writing-tip-for-people-who-hate-writing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/weird-writing-tip-for-people-who-hate-writing\/","title":{"rendered":"Weird Writing Tip For People Who Hate Writing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Got a cool (but kinda strange) writing tip for you today.<\/p>\n<p>And, if you are someone who finds writing hard and painful, I suspect you&#8217;ll find it especially useful.<\/p>\n<p>Check this out:<\/p>\n<p>Recently, when rapping with my bud Rich Bryda (I&#8217;ll tell you more about him later), he told me about a way to make your concentration when writing SUPER focused. <\/p>\n<p>Rich, by the way, is no dummie.<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s written <em>thousands<\/em> of ezine articles in an ultra-competitive market, and what he told me is probably the best writing tip I&#8217;ve ever heard.<\/p>\n<p>What did he say?<\/p>\n<p>Just that, when writing, he puts a Mozart song on &#8220;repeat&#8221; so it loops over and over.<\/p>\n<p>Does it work?<\/p>\n<p>You bet your under-roos it does.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, I&#8217;ve been doing this for a couple weeks now, and it&#8217;s done <em>miracles<\/em> for my <strong>concentration<\/strong> and <strong>attention span<\/strong> when writing.<\/p>\n<p>The key is to pick songs that &#8220;rev&#8221; you up.<\/p>\n<p>For example, here are a few songs from my &#8220;play list&#8221;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clubbed To Death (From &#8220;The Matrix&#8221; Soundtrack)<\/li>\n<li>Driving With The Top Down (Iron Man Soundtrack)<\/li>\n<li>Fire Man (Iron Man Soundtrack)<\/li>\n<li>Rescue Mission (Watchmen Soundtrack)<\/li>\n<li>New Divide (Transformers 2 Soundtrack)<\/li>\n<li>Jamie (Weezer &#8212; no idea why this song works for me, whatever)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Anyway, those are just a few.<\/p>\n<p>And what you do is, you pick a song and let it loop for 33.33 minutes (ala Eugene Schwarz&#8217;s classic &#8220;egg timer&#8221; teaching) while writing.<\/p>\n<p>Do you need to listen to the same music I do?<\/p>\n<p>No way, Jose.<\/p>\n<p>I listen to action movie soundtracks cuz that&#8217;s what floats my boat.<\/p>\n<p>But what you want to do is make YOUR own playlist, put one of the songs on &#8220;repeat&#8221; mode (you can do this in iTunes) and let the words fly.<\/p>\n<p>Won&#8217;t this get boring?<\/p>\n<p>Or even annoying listening to the same song over and over?<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly, no.<\/p>\n<p>But it <em>does<\/em> focus your mind like nothing else.<\/p>\n<p>And hey, who knows?<\/p>\n<p>You may just have yourself a bit of fun to boot.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n<p><strong>P.S.<\/strong> Once you get your own play list, jam over to <strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.CopywritingGrabBag.com\" rel=\"noopener\">www.CopywritingGrabBag.com<\/a><\/strong> for 122+ ways to write your ads, emails and sales letters used by some of the best copywriters on the planet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Got a cool (but kinda strange) writing tip for you today.
