Let me be perfectly blunt<\/em>:<\/p>\n

I honestly have no clue what you can expect in 2010. <\/p>\n

I’m the last person to ask about such things. <\/p>\n

And, frankly, even if I had some kind of magical “crystal ball”, I wouldn’t be too confident in my ability to accurately interpret whatever I saw.<\/p>\n

Even so, there is ONE thing I will predict.<\/p>\n

Something that can possibly make your 2010 extremely profitable — whether you’re a raw, “wriggling” newbie marketer or a seasoned “battle tested” entrepreneur. <\/p>\n

And here it is:<\/p>\n

I believe it’ll be more important to know how to SELL in 2010 — online, direct mail, phone, email, in person, however you do it — than ever before.<\/p>\n

Methinks it’ll be FAR more important than in 2009.<\/p>\n

And certainly more important than it was in the economic “sugar high” that ended in 2008 — when everyone was buzzing<\/em> on credit and loans, with money burning holes in their pockets and even crappy products sold like hot cakes.<\/p>\n

Remember that?<\/p>\n

You didn’t have to be particularly bright to sell then.<\/p>\n

And you could get away with doing a lot of things that simply don’t work very well anymore (like pouring on the hype, fabricating social proof, bragging, etc — pretty much what some of the goo-roos now in hiding or retired did).<\/p>\n

Yes… I know that’s not a very “sexy” prediction.<\/p>\n

But remember this:<\/p>\n

As Dutch scholar Desiderius Erasmus once said:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“In the land of the blind,
\nthe one eyed man is king”<\/div>\n

<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And hey, let’s face it:<\/p>\n

There are a lot of “blind” marketers running around still trying to get away with “killer” marketing instead of principled based selling.<\/p>\n

Which leaves a lot of opportunity for everyone else.<\/p>\n

Anyway, have a safe and happy New Year, my friend.<\/p>\n
