{"id":3061,"date":"2014-12-29T06:30:18","date_gmt":"2014-12-29T14:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=3061"},"modified":"2014-12-29T06:30:18","modified_gmt":"2014-12-29T14:30:18","slug":"repulsion-marketing-101","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/repulsion-marketing-101\/","title":{"rendered":"Repulsion Marketing 101"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An interesting sales letter question:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Ben, I was just reading your &#8216;Email Players&#8217; newsletter sales pitch and was wondering if this part isn&#8217;t costing you sales:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;Email Players&#8221; is not for people who can&#8217;t focus and never implement anything (while complaining about &#8220;information overload&#8221;)&#8230; Or those who are on a tight budget (I would not recommend going into debt to subscribe)&#8230; Or goo-roo fanboys who think they can learn a super secret &#8220;ninja&#8221; email trick today and be rich by next Thursday.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>If that&#8217;s you, don&#8217;t waste your time.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I&#8217;m sure there&#8217;s a place for you somewhere.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>But It Ain&#8217;t<br \/>\nThis Newsletter!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>You can read the whole thing at:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.EmailPlayers.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.EmailPlayers.com<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Is this snippet costing me sales?<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know.<\/p>\n<p>Frankly, I don&#8217;t <em>care<\/em>, either.<\/p>\n<p>There really are certain people I do NOT want subscribing. Like those extremely needy people who whine, try to abuse my time, don&#8217;t appreciate value, have no sense of humor and freak out about the dumbest things.<\/p>\n<p>I say let &#8217;em haunt someone else.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And if that attitude costs me sales, so be it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But you know what?<\/p>\n<p>I doubt it&#8217;s &#8220;costing&#8221; me sales anyway.<\/p>\n<p>For one thing, that newsletter has done WAY better than I thought.
