{"id":3743,"date":"2010-09-08T00:00:47","date_gmt":"2010-09-08T07:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=3743"},"modified":"2010-09-08T00:00:47","modified_gmt":"2010-09-08T07:00:47","slug":"ppc-panic-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/ppc-panic-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"PPC Panic Attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Looks like people are freaking over Google again.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, was just reading about someone who seems genuinely angry, confused and <em>discombobulated<\/em> about Google banning accounts over &#8220;bridge&#8221; pages not being Google compliant.<\/p>\n<p>The big question is <em>why<\/em> is Google doing this?<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>WHY?<\/p>\n<p>Well, I&#8217;m no Google expert (not even an ex-spurt) and I&#8217;m the LAST person you should listen to when it comes to PPC strategy, slaps and spanks.<\/p>\n<p>So I consulted a &#8220;for real&#8221; expert on this instead:<\/p>\n<p>My friend Jim Yaghi.<\/p>\n<p>Jim is a computer scientist who got the PPC &#8220;bug&#8221; when he was studying to get his PhD in computer science.  He has also spent a lot of time as the &#8220;in house&#8221; AdWords consultant for the world&#8217;s largest home business marketing training site.  And believe it or not, while he WAS &#8220;banned&#8221; once, he&#8217;s one of the few ever to get back on Google afterwards without missing a beat (ask the goo-roos how many of them have done that).<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s the secret of his PPC awesomeness?<\/p>\n<p><strong>He understands artificial intelligence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Or &#8220;AI&#8221; as he calls it.<\/p>\n<p>AI is how software and computer programs (like Google AdWords, for example) think, behave and respond to input and human interaction.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, so I asked Jim about the recent Google fart.<\/p>\n<p>I asked him&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;Jim, I&#8217;m no PPC goo-roo, but it seems to me if people would simply build an email list and then email it offers, this new Google spank would be a non-issue.  Or am I missing something?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His answer?<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;yeah that&#8217;s exactly what i do.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So simple, isn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n<p>So, so, so simple.<\/p>\n<p>Someone once said goo-roos make so much of the green stuff because they <em>complicate<\/em> the simple.<\/p>\n<p>And unfortunately, methinks that&#8217;s true.<\/p>\n<p>But you know what else I think?<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s lots MORE money in <em>simplifying<\/em> the complicated, instead.<\/p>\n<p>Just a thought.<\/p>\n<p>Take your business back from Google (using email) here:<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.StreetSmartEmail.com\" rel=\"noopener\">www.StreetSmartEmail.com<\/a><\/div>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Looks like people are freaking over Google again.
