Tomorrow’s election day in the US.<\/p>\n
You know, a lot of people go into national politics with (somewhat) good intentions, only to end up being the biggest shysters and liars of the bunch after a few years.<\/p>\n
You can almost set your watch<\/em> to it.<\/p>\n Even the 2 or 3 politicians I LIKE are watched like hawks.<\/p>\n And I never really trust any of them.<\/p>\n Why?<\/p>\n Because government is NOT your friend.<\/strong><\/p>\n It’s not “Santa Clause”, either.<\/p>\n It’s inherently heartless and amoral<\/em>, and is the biggest mass murderer of people in world history. (More people were slaughtered by their own governments in the 20th century than were killed by war, civil war, and individual crime.)<\/p>\n And it’s folly to think “your guy” (or gal) can tame<\/em> it.<\/p>\n Ain’t gonna happen.<\/p>\n It’s like The Ring in the “Lord Of The Rings” books.<\/p>\n Just like The Ring, government is powerful, seductive and treacherous. And yet, good people ALWAYS think they can use it (even if temporarily<\/em>) to win the day for the good guys, only to be seduced, betrayed and eventually destroyed by it. <\/p>\n So don’t trust government.<\/p>\n And don’t trust politicians, either.<\/p>\n Especially if you’re an entrepreneur.<\/p>\n (And even MORE especially if you’re successful.)<\/p>\n Anyway, that’s my take on it.<\/p>\n Happy voting!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
