{"id":3981,"date":"2012-11-23T06:00:30","date_gmt":"2012-11-23T14:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=3981"},"modified":"2012-11-23T06:00:30","modified_gmt":"2012-11-23T14:00:30","slug":"wal-fart-and-failure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/wal-fart-and-failure\/","title":{"rendered":"Wal-Fart And Failure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I hardly ever shop at Wal-Mart.<\/p>\n<p>And, when I do, it&#8217;s usually online.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>Is it because I hate Wal-Mart?<\/p>\n<p>Think the products are shoddy?<\/p>\n<p>Take the side of cry baby small businesses who whine about Wal-Mart taking customers away (because they are too lazy to learn even the most BASIC of sales, marketing and merchandising skills)?<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">No&#8230; my reasoning is much more snooty<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t like Wal-Mart because it oozes &#8220;cheap.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I ain&#8217;t just talking about prices, either.<\/p>\n<p>Frankly, I like a good deal as much as anyone.<\/p>\n<p>What I&#8217;m talking about is the mentality it caters to &#8212; where everything is about cheap, cheap, cheap. Like, for example, the vultures who camped outside their friendly neighborhood Wal-Fart stores yesterday at the expense of enjoying it with their families just to get a good deal.<\/p>\n<p>Ugh.<\/p>\n<p>Just not my bag, I guess.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, that&#8217;s my opinion.<\/p>\n<p>Am I saying you should stay away from Wal-Fart?<\/p>\n<p>Not get their great deals?<\/p>\n<p>And avoid it like the plague?<\/p>\n<p>No, no&#8230; nothing like that.<\/p>\n<p>Just consider this a public service announcement.<\/p>\n<p>Cheapness is a disease that can have seriously negative effects on entrepreneurs who adapt the Wal-Mart mentality to their own businesses. (By selling things based on price, only consuming free stuff online, only buying cheap $7 eBooks that are full of nothing but hot air and affiliate links, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>Hey, hate me all you want for saying this.<\/p>\n<p>But cheap is ALWAYS more expensive.<\/p>\n<p>And few ever get rich by being cheap.<\/p>\n<p>Except maybe for Wal-Mart.<\/p>\n<p>Anyhoo.<\/p>\n<p>One thing that&#8217;s not cheap is &#8220;Email Players&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s quite pricey, actually.<\/p>\n<p>And there are lots of reasons for that.<\/p>\n<p>One of which is I don&#8217;t cater to cheap people.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d rather cater to players.<\/p>\n<p>Investors.<\/p>\n<p>And, yes, REAL business people.<\/p>\n<p>(<a href=\"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/are-you-a-player-or-a-spectator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Not wannabe spectators<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>If you think you got right stuff, go to:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.EmailPlayers.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>www.EmailPlayers.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I hardly ever shop at Wal-Mart.
