{"id":4260,"date":"2011-04-07T01:00:56","date_gmt":"2011-04-07T08:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=4260"},"modified":"2011-04-07T01:00:56","modified_gmt":"2011-04-07T08:00:56","slug":"lunatic-marketing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/lunatic-marketing\/","title":{"rendered":"Lunatic Marketing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I flabbergasts me how little people use email.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ll spend weeks writing a sales letter and testing it to a high polished shine&#8230; but won&#8217;t spend more than 20 minutes crafting a simple email designed to sell a product or service.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s <em>lunacy<\/em>, IMH(BA)O.<\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s robbing them of lots of sales.<\/p>\n<p>For example, I have a site that converts at around 3% (give or take), but the auto responder emails are converting at over 15% (and that number is always rising).<\/p>\n<p>Each message takes about 10 minutes to write.<\/p>\n<p>I write one email per day.<\/p>\n<p>(Most are 200 words or less.)<\/p>\n<p>And then&#8230; I forget about it.<\/p>\n<p>The result?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Five times more sales than the &#8220;naked&#8221; sales letter alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Look, this analogy may not be perfect, but I kind of look at selling online like knocking over a soda pop machine.
