Last year I had a rare opportunity:<\/p>\n
To be interviewed for Ken McCarthy’s elite “System Club.” Ken is\u00a0like the “founding father” of Internet marketing (certainly one of\u00a0them), and it was a great time and a lot of cool info was discussed.<\/p>\n
Anyway, one thing we talked about was email.<\/p>\n
Specifically, email frequency.<\/p>\n
A lot of my website subscribers think I’m some kind of weirdo for\u00a0sending out daily emails.<\/p>\n
That I must be crazy.<\/p>\n
And that I just tick off my lists, yada yada yada…<\/p>\n
Of course, they’re all dead wrong.<\/p>\n
They couldn’t possibly be wronger.<\/strong><\/p>\n (Not about me being crazy, but about email frequency…)<\/p>\n It’s just the opposite.<\/p>\n Not only do you not tick your list off… but if they barely hear\u00a0from you and you only mail them when you have “something to say”\u00a0you have a MUCH greater chance of ticking them off since they\u00a0aren’t used to hearing from you.<\/p>\n “Who is this jackanape sending me mail?”<\/p>\n “When did I join this list?”<\/p>\n “Where’s the spam button!”<\/p>\n Yes, mi amigo.<\/p>\n That’s exactly what goes through their minds.<\/strong><\/p>\n But besides that, there’s a clear financial reason to bang out an\u00a0email every day to your list. And when talking to Ken I learned he\u00a0has a few other extremely profitable websites (non-marketing\u00a0related) and I was floored by the numbers they get.<\/p>\n So naturally I asked…<\/p>\n “What’s the secret?”<\/p>\n “It’s that daily communication.”<\/p>\n Guess I should have known!<\/p>\n Oh well.<\/p>\n Is any of this getting through?<\/p>\n Or will you keep SPURNING my advice on this?<\/p>\n I hope not.<\/p>\n Because you’re leaving mucho $$ on ye table.<\/p>\n Go here next:<\/p>\n
