I don’t know why, exactly.<\/p>\n
Maybe it’s the whole “people want what you can’t have” thing (in my case, I am not currently taking on any client work).<\/p>\n
But I’m just not interested in clients right now.<\/p>\n
Too little freedom, and too much drama.<\/p>\n
In fact, the drama of working for copywriting clients is almost like being Jack Bauer in “24.” You’re trying to do your job (with a VERY tight deadline) and make things happen despite a plethora of people (some with good intentions, others with bad intentions, and some who are flat out trying to sabotage everything) working against you.<\/p>\n
It’s not always that bad.<\/p>\n
But it can get crazy sometimes.<\/p>\n
And the more fingers in the pie, the worse it is.<\/p>\n
That’s why I suggest freelancers of all stripes (copywriting, or any other) being your OWN client.<\/p>\n
Create and sell your products.<\/p>\n
Keep all the money.<\/p>\n
And deal with none of the drama.<\/p>\n
No, you may not make as much up front as you would from some pimp daddy client… but there’s no law saying you can’t take a client on while doing your own stuff, is there?<\/p>\n
So why not get started today?<\/p>\n
Create a product.<\/p>\n
Start building a list.<\/p>\n
And shoot it an email every day.<\/p>\n
It’s shocking how fast it can build from there.<\/p>\n
