Another ex-spurt misses the boat:<\/p>\n
“You’ve got to be kidding me. You sent 7 emails to me today. I’m sure your unsubscription rate went through the roof today if you emailed everyone on your list like that. I don’t think I needed 7 reminders about your sale today. Are you really that desperate? Is this what you teach in your book?”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Well, I guess he told me!<\/p>\n
Dang, why didn’t I think of that?<\/p>\n
BTW, his email is about a recent sale.<\/p>\n
The above commenter was complaining about how, on the last day of the sale, I sent out 7+ emails about that sale ending.<\/p>\n
(Funny how nobody screams when eBay does it…)<\/p>\n
Anyway, here’s why I bring it up:<\/p>\n
His is the attitude of someone who thinks<\/em> they know what they’re talking about… but doesn’t. (i.e. ex-spurt)<\/strong><\/p>\n
They’re all over the Internet, too.<\/p>\n
Offering their unsolicited advice.<\/p>\n
Giving uninformed opinions.<\/p>\n
And projecting their biases onto others.<\/p>\n
Sigh.<\/p>\n
Kind of sad, really.<\/p>\n
If only he’d asked (instead of mindlessly assuming) he’d have known I got more sales on that Sunday (when I mailed all those emails he was whining about) than on the previous 3 days of the sale combined.<\/p>\n
Gotta love them ex-spurts.<\/p>\n
Sure, their opinions mean zilcho.<\/p>\n
But they’re always good for a few laughs<\/em>.<\/p>\n
