Do you have any plans to do that?<\/p>\n<p><b>BEN:<\/b> No plans on my end.<\/p>\n<p>But you can get a GREAT <strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kenmccarthy.com\/blog\/?p=72\" rel=\"noopener\">Ken McCarthy<\/a><\/strong> analysis of one of the longest running control letters in the history of direct marketing at:<\/p>\n<p><center><b><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kenmccarthy.com\/blog\/?p=72\" rel=\"noopener\">www.kenmccarthy.com\/blog\/?p=72<\/a><\/b><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Peter Stone also recently posted an invaluable sales letter critique on his blog at:<\/p>\n<p><center><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/peterstonecopy.typepad.com\/peter_stone\/2007\/06\/what_a_video_cr.html\" rel=\"noopener\">www.peterstonecopy.typepad.com\/peter_stone\/2007\/06\/what_a_video_cr.html<\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Both Ken&#8217;s and Peter&#8217;s teachings are &#8220;must reading&#8221; for anyone wanting to become a better copywriter.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, they contain so much &#8220;for real&#8221; advanced copywriting information you can go to them over and over again and learn something new each time. And that did wonders for me.<\/p>\n<p>You can get all the Gary Halbert writings you can eat at:<\/p>\n<p><center><b><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thegaryhalbertletter.com\" rel=\"noopener\">www.thegaryhalbertletter.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hardtofindads.com\" rel=\"noopener\">www.hardtofindads.com<\/a><\/b><\/center><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nQUESTION:<\/strong> Do you have any advice on product package design?<\/p>\n<p><b>BEN:<\/b> If you suck at designing (like I do) then bite the bullet and outsource.<\/p>\n<p>Just make sure you find <b><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marketingbrainfarts.com\/4hire.html\" rel=\"noopener\">someone who\u2019s good at both designing and direct response marketing<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re not always easy to find.<\/p>\n<p>But I promise you they\u2019re well worth the effort (and price).<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nQUESTION:<\/strong> I\u2019m new in my market and I have no testimonials, track record or credentials, etc.  What can I do to stick out?<\/p>\n<p><b>BEN:<\/b> A couple things you can try include:<\/p>\n<p>1. Lots of \u201cpre-selling\u201d that demonstrates your knowledge and expertise <u>before<\/u> the prospect reads a word of your sales letter.<\/p>\n<p>You can do this with free reports, articles, videos, audios, case studies (when you get some), etc.<\/p>\n<p>2. \u201cOut-fascinate\u201d your competition with tantalizing bullets.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, create a LOT of bullets that make people say, <i>\u201chow in the world does THAT work?!\u201d<\/i>  Or, <i>\u201cHow is that even possible???\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard to imagine, but people really do buy products (even very expensive products) because of one single bullet point that hits \u2018em where it counts.<\/p>\n<p>IMHO, the undisputed world heavy-weight champion bullet point teacher is Ken McCarthy.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of just handing you a pile of bullets to study and copy by hand, he actually <u>shows<\/u> you how to build hot bullet points from the ground up \u2014 from scratch.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a reason why guys like <b><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bencivengabullets.com\" rel=\"noopener\">Gary Bencivenga<\/a><\/b> and <b><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dankennedy.com\" rel=\"noopener\">Dan Kennedy<\/a><\/b> praise Ken\u2019s ads as examples of world-class copywriting.<\/p>\n<p>His unique way of constructing bullets may be one of those reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, one more question before we wrap up.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nQUESTION:<\/strong> I have a website where I sell a bunch of books on the same topic. My books are all on similar subjects and complement each other. Do you have any quick tips on how I can get customers to buy more than one book at a time?<\/p>\n<p><b>BEN:<\/b> Try including a snatch of copy that says:<\/p>\n<p><center><i>\u201cBe sure to put all the books that look interesting into your cart as you go.
