I recently had an epiphany.<\/p>\n
I was talking to a friend who is a wiz at getting traffic, and was telling him how sometimes I wish I’d started out in this business learning about traffic generation first, and copywriting\/emails\/conversions second.<\/p>\n
He said I was crazy<\/em>.<\/p>\n (Well, maybe not his exact words.)<\/p>\n His opinion is just the opposite.<\/strong><\/p>\n He says a lot of his clients and customers are trying to start off by being good at traffic and it’s not making them any money because they don’t know how to convert that traffic.<\/p>\n The analogy he used is:<\/p>\n It’s like building a house.<\/p>\n You don’t start with the walls, and roof, and rooms, etc.<\/p>\n You start with the foundation<\/em>.<\/p>\n You could have the greatest “built” house in the world, but without a solid foundation it will blow over with a good stiff wind.<\/p>\n And so it is online.<\/p>\n A million visitors does you no good if you can’t convert them.<\/p>\n You need that foundation, first.<\/p>\n That foundation being conversion.<\/p>\n (i.e. copywriting, email, etc).<\/p>\n You can always buy traffic when ready.<\/p>\n But buying conversion is often very expensive (good copywriters aren’t cheap…) and there are no guarantees with them. And if I’d started off being a traffic guy, I would have been like a dog chasing a car — even if I caught it (i.e. got lots of traffic) I would not have known what to do with it!<\/p>\n Anyway, it was an interesting revelation.<\/p>\n What about you?<\/p>\n Want to learn how to convert traffic?<\/p>\n Then I suggest mastering email.<\/p>\n It’s not very hard.<\/p>\n And, it often yields quick results.<\/p>\n It’s what “Email Players” is all about.<\/p>\n Subscribe at:<\/p>\n
