I’ve said it before:<\/p>\n

Making a living isn’t the ONLY reason to write daily.<\/p>\n

One of the other reasons I do is my quest to become a master communicator in general. Yes, I have problems in this area — and always have (I know… you thought I was perfect… and please, feel free to keep believing that…)<\/p>\n

This is ESPECIALLY bad talking one-on-one.<\/p>\n

(Ever hear me try to pronounce things? It ain’t pretty…)<\/p>\n

But sometimes even the written word flubs me up, too.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Example:<\/p>\n

Once upon a time, I was communicating with a woman I’d been seeing, and I made a (seemingly) flippant remark that was really intended as a compliment but sounded like (from the way I worded it) the ultimate insult<\/em> – doh!<\/p>\n

The point?<\/p>\n

Words have great POWER, baby.<\/p>\n

The power to build and destroy.<\/p>\n

To hurt and heal.<\/p>\n

To make someone feel like a million bucks… or like a pee-drenched penny stuck to a public restroom floor.<\/p>\n

In business this can cost you $$.<\/p>\n

And it can cost ya in other ways, too.<\/p>\n

So learn from your pal Ben’s mishaps.<\/p>\n

That’s why I’m here, my son.<\/p>\n
