{"id":6398,"date":"2012-10-16T06:00:36","date_gmt":"2012-10-16T13:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=6398"},"modified":"2012-10-16T06:00:36","modified_gmt":"2012-10-16T13:00:36","slug":"mamas-dont-let-your-babies-grow-up-to-be-goo-roos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/mamas-dont-let-your-babies-grow-up-to-be-goo-roos\/","title":{"rendered":"Mamas Don&#8217;t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Goo-roos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An explanation is long overdo&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Nearly every week someone asks if they join &#8220;Email Players&#8221; do they get the back issues, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The answer is&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>No.<\/p>\n<p>I realize mine&#8217;s not the goo-roo way.<\/p>\n<p>You know &#8212; letting new members access content free others had to pay for.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But really, it&#8217;s insulting to current subscribers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many Email Players subscribers have been around since day 1.<\/p>\n<p>How does giving others free what they paid for show them loyalty?<\/p>\n<p>Answer:<\/p>\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t show loyalty.<\/p>\n<p>It shows I&#8217;m willing to sell out for a few extra dineros.<\/p>\n<p>Fact is, I could probably make substantially more sales if I did the goo-roo thang and gave people instant access to pdf&#8217;s of the back issues upon subscribing or allowing new subscribers to buy back issues at a big discount or whatever. <\/p>\n<p>And I suspect sales would double. <\/p>\n<p>But, so would the number of people who I don&#8217;t want subscribing and actively try to turn off in the sales letter.<\/p>\n<p>More:<\/p>\n<p><strong>I wouldn&#8217;t be doing anyone any favors with the goo-roo thing anyway.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been publishing &#8220;Email Players&#8221; since August, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;ve noticed people who sign up &#8220;just to get the free stuff!!&#8221; are clueless about succeeding at anything. <\/p>\n<p>They don&#8217;t have the right mindset. <\/p>\n<p>They look at info products as a cost instead of an investment that can (and should) pay them far more than their monthly subscription. <\/p>\n<p>Frankly, just applying (for example) the 30-day challenge or modeling\/adapting the emails I show as examples EACH month in your own voice for your product and market can save you a ton of time and yield a nice ROI.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know how to make it more simple.<\/p>\n<p>But, maybe that&#8217;s the problem?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not complicating it and &#8220;goo-rooing&#8221; it up.<\/p>\n<p>People tend to value the complicated more than the simple, after all.<\/p>\n<p>And I want nothing to do with them types.<\/p>\n<p>If you want complicated get thee elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t play that.<\/p>\n<p>If you want simple and proven, check out:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.EmailPlayers.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>www.EmailPlayers.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An explanation is long overdo&#8230; Nearly every week someone asks if they join &#8220;Email Players&#8221; do they get the back issues, etc. The answer is&#8230; No. I realize mine&#8217;s not the goo-roo way.
