{"id":6517,"date":"2012-11-28T06:00:01","date_gmt":"2012-11-28T14:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=6517"},"modified":"2012-11-28T06:00:01","modified_gmt":"2012-11-28T14:00:01","slug":"dead-marketers-rolling-in-their-graves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/dead-marketers-rolling-in-their-graves\/","title":{"rendered":"Dead Marketers Rolling In Their Graves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yeah, yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll say the almighty headline isn&#8217;t necessarily that important and someone will write me in a near hysterical state quoting Caples or Ogilvy or Dan Kennedy or whoever, to &#8220;prove&#8221; their case.<\/p>\n<p>Well, I don&#8217;t roll that way.<\/p>\n<p>I look at results.<\/p>\n<p>Real life examples.<\/p>\n<p>And, specifically, current experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Case in point:<\/p>\n<p>Couple days ago &#8220;Email Players&#8221; &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.EmailPlayers.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>www.EmailPlayers.com<\/strong><\/a> &#8212; subscriber Carl Juneau sent me an email about how he split tested a video sales letter with and without a headline.<\/p>\n<p>He was emailing his offer for a week straight.<\/p>\n<p>And, here&#8217;s what he said&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>My results at the end of the week are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Version A (standard): 4.78%<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Version B (no headline): 4.52%<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>So what happened?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened is people who saw no headline sales letter ended up buying anyway. Why? Because I kept emailing them about the offer, I think.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion 2: if you email a lot, a no-headline (crappy) sales letter sells just as much as a standard (good) sales letter.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Amazing isn&#8217;t it?<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sho&#8217; nuff&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>But I&#8217;m not surprised.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had several experiences where even changing entire formats (i.e. text vs video) using my system yielded little or no difference in response.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, the message is clear here.<\/p>\n<p>There are no &#8220;rules.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t care what some now-dead marketer said 100 years ago (all of who&#8217;d probably be rolling in their graves reading these results) or what your favorite Internet marketing goo-roo says today.<\/p>\n<p>Where there&#8217;s an email, there&#8217;s a way, baby.<\/p>\n<p>Especially with my system.<\/p>\n<p>I teach it in &#8220;Email Players&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I show you emails that are working.<\/p>\n<p>Strategies I&#8217;m using.<\/p>\n<p>And, how I make more sales using email.<\/p>\n<p>More than enough to pay for your monthly subscription assuming you apply the info and have a responsive list and proven offer.
