Six months ago I’d never heard of him.<\/p>\n

But my droog Robert Bruce (of copyblogger) said I HAD to read his stuff, saying my writing style and attitude was so similar to his. So I read one of his books (titled “Women”) and am now addicted.<\/p>\n

Anyway, mayhaps I’ll write more about him later.<\/p>\n

But today, let’s talk about his quote.<\/p>\n

Reading it may “sting” a bit.<\/p>\n

But, it’s a great reality check.<\/p>\n

No, bid’niz ain’t ALL fun and games.<\/p>\n

Sometimes it’s extremely hard work.<\/p>\n

Not very pleasant.<\/p>\n

And, can be mentally and emotionally brutal.<\/p>\n

But compared to a 9-5 job being at the mercy of some jackanape boss promoted one (or two!) levels above his own complacency?<\/p>\n

Even a “bad” day is awesome.<\/p>\n

After all…<\/p>\n

You can be FIRED<\/strong> from a job.<\/p>\n

Not so from your business.<\/p>\n

You can go YEARS<\/strong> without a raise at a job.<\/p>\n

Not so from your business.<\/p>\n

And, you can piss away DECADES<\/strong> of your life (with naught to show for it except regret, lost opportunity, and wishing you’d had more time to do the things you wanted to do) at a job.<\/p>\n

Again, not so from your business.<\/p>\n

Does that depress you a bit?<\/p>\n

Good.<\/p>\n

You’re ready for a change, then.<\/p>\n
