{"id":6848,"date":"2013-03-04T06:00:25","date_gmt":"2013-03-04T14:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=6848"},"modified":"2013-03-04T06:00:25","modified_gmt":"2013-03-04T14:00:25","slug":"mush-cookie-marketers-have-starving-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/mush-cookie-marketers-have-starving-kids\/","title":{"rendered":"Mush Cookie Marketers Have Starving Kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My friend Brianna recently told me about the &#8220;mush cookie&#8221; guys who hit on her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mush cookie&#8221; meaning guys who are&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clingy<\/li>\n<li>Needy<\/li>\n<li>Timid<\/li>\n<li>Emotional<\/li>\n<li>Etc&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These dudes turn her off, repel her, and totally make her want to find someone&#8230; else.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, it got me thinking.<\/p>\n<p>We got mush cookies in the marketing world, too.<\/p>\n<p>Like, for example&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>People who can&#8217;t form an original thought &#8212; always swiping and stealing other peoples&#8217; ideas, sales copy and emails.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>People afraid of not being (gasp!) liked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>People not relentless in their follow up.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>People who are terrified of letting anyone see the &#8220;real&#8221; them in their emails, sales letters and marketing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>People without the guts to stick it out when times get hard.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>People afraid to SELL (hiding their pitches inside a soft sell &#8220;PS&#8221; in their emails, or who just give away free content, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>People scared of going against the grain.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And the list goes on&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those are mush cookie marketers:<\/p>\n<p>Timid.<\/p>\n<p>Scared.<\/p>\n<p>Lazy.<\/p>\n<p>Are you one of them?<\/p>\n<p>Then it&#8217;s time to change your evil ways.<\/p>\n<p>Sac up, already.<\/p>\n<p>And, be a real entrepreneur.<\/p>\n<p>Hey, don&#8217;t shoot the messenger.<\/p>\n<p>If you sell a truly quality product, the world needs it. <\/p>\n<p>And by being such a mush cookie, you&#8217;re not selling it to as many people as you could, thereby depriving others&#8217; of possessing your product and solving a pain in their lives.<\/p>\n<p>So quit with the mush cookie nonsense.<\/p>\n<p>End of sermon.<\/p>\n<p>When you&#8217;re ready, go here:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.EmailPlayers.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>www.EmailPlayers.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My friend Brianna recently told me about the &#8220;mush cookie&#8221; guys who hit on her. &#8220;Mush cookie&#8221; meaning guys who are&#8230; Clingy Needy Timid Emotional Etc&#8230; These dudes turn her off, repel her, and totally make her want to find someone&#8230; else.
