Last year my pal\u00a0Ricky Breslin sent me an article about how people still blindly believe social media is the Second Coming of marketing, even as hardcore social media cheerleaders (including Ford’s social media manager) are shying away from using the term at all.<\/p>\n
Yes, social media has its uses.<\/p>\n
And there will always be a market for it.<\/p>\n
(People shoveling horse poo for a living will always need shovels…)<\/p>\n
But, it’s always been a prime example of cognitive dissonance — where your brain comes up with rationalizations (and believe it even MORE) when something’s proven false.<\/p>\n
It’s actually fun to watch.<\/p>\n
