There are few things more pathetic than a spelling nazi.<\/p>\n
They’re kinda like Brainy Smurf:<\/p>\n
They fancy themselves intellectuals who aren’t shy about sharing their unsolicited “wisdom” with people. But they annoy everyone with their silly multi page essays on why perfect spelling is crucial to your sales when, in reality, the opposite is true.<\/p>\n
In many cases typos help<\/em>.<\/p>\n (They make you “unokay” and more “real” — it’s persuasion 101…)<\/p>\n Anyway, they’re also losers in the marketing game.<\/p>\n Reason why is they don’t know how to sell.<\/p>\n They don’t realize nobody cares about a typo.<\/p>\n Or a little botched grammar.<\/p>\n Or that most people don’t know they’re even reading a typo.<\/p>\n Worse:<\/p>\n Anyone who wouldn’t buy because of a misspelled a word is not only a terrible customer who will be a huge thorn in your gluteus assimus, but they don’t even deserve<\/em> your product.<\/p>\n I say let ’em suffer.<\/p>\n A spelling nazi’s tears mean my joy<\/span>.<\/p>\n So usually I just ignore ’em.<\/p>\n But, sometimes, I’ll reply with:<\/p>\n “When I want your opinion, I’ll beat it out of you.”<\/strong><\/p>\n Or…<\/p>\n “How much $$ did your last email make?”<\/strong><\/p>\n Or…<\/p>\n “tl;dr”<\/strong><\/p>\n Short for “too long, didn’t read” — it amuses me to send them into a nerd rage knowing they spent probably an hour writing me, triple checking their spelling and grammar… by letting them know I didn’t even read their dorky unsolicited advice.<\/p>\n It’s like booting Brainy out of the smurf village on his fat head…<\/p>\n Anyway, here’s the point:<\/p>\n The key to email profits ain’t spelling.<\/p>\n Or grammar.<\/p>\n Or perfect prose.<\/p>\n
