Today’s subject line is my new answer to:<\/p>\n
“So what do you do for a living?”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Everyone I know in this business gets frustrated with that question. Not because people ask the question, but because we don’t know how to explain it to someone not familiar with this whole online business thaaaaang.<\/p>\n Sometimes I say “I publish books and newsletters.”<\/p>\n Or… “Internet marketing.”<\/p>\n Or… “I show business people how to get all the new business they can handle.”<\/p>\n Or… “I legally spam people”<\/p>\n (Just kidding…)<\/p>\n None of them really sounds cool, though.<\/p>\n Or even very fun.<\/p>\n So for now on I’m going with the bum one.<\/p>\n The way I see it, if you have the kind of freedom (to travel, play and do whatever you want whenever you want with whoever you want) most people in your life will never really “get” what you do.<\/p>\n Frankly, they may have trouble even imagining<\/em> it.<\/p>\n So, you might as well have some fun<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n What?<\/p>\n You’re not at the freedoom-from-a-job level yet?<\/p>\n What do you do then?<\/p>\n Remember this quote from Ken McCarthy’s “System Club Letters”:<\/p>\n “As entrepreneurs, we enjoy many things, large and small, that the average person – even someone with a ‘great job’ – can’t even imagine. Stay the course. It is worth it.”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Word up.<\/p>\n So keep on keeping on.<\/p>\n Never quit.<\/p>\n And, always fight the good fight.<\/p>\n Victory IS worth the struggle.<\/p>\n My “tool” for getting free from job (and client) work was email.<\/p>\n It’s cheap to use.<\/p>\n Fun to implement.<\/p>\n And, if you do it right, works fast.<\/p>\n Go here to take your game to the next level:<\/p>\n
