The above is from one of my favorite songs.<\/p>\n

I listen to it frequently.<\/p>\n

(I listen to lots of Metallica when writing.)<\/p>\n

And, there are two reasons why:<\/p>\n

1. The “writing” reason<\/strong><\/p>\n

Any song that pumps you up is good writing music, because anything that gets you into an emotional state gives you energy — and when it all boils down, writing (especially an email designed to sell) is nothing but a huge outpouring of energy and emotion.<\/p>\n

Maybe it LOOKS simple.<\/p>\n

And, practically speaking, it is.<\/p>\n

But, it’s also exhausting.<\/p>\n

(And often the more effective the email, the more exhausting.)<\/p>\n

2. The “inspirational” reason<\/strong><\/p>\n

It just flat out reminds me of how cool it is to live what I jokingly refer to as The Ben Settle Lifestyle\u00ae (for the insanely literal, that trademark is a joke).<\/p>\n

Example:<\/p>\n

Late last week friends in another state invited me to\u00a0hang out with them and, I figure, why not? It’s an absolute\u00a0no-brainer to pick up and travel wherever I want, for any reason,\u00a0whenever it suits my fancy. I just pack a bag, laptop and phone…\u00a0fire up the car and I’m on the road faster than you can say\u00a0“goo-roo fanboy.”<\/span><\/p>\n

I have no boss to answer to.<\/p>\n

No authority to submit to.<\/p>\n

The only time table is my own.<\/p>\n

I go where I please, when I please, however I please.<\/p>\n

(Planes, trains, automobiles, etc).<\/p>\n

Anyway, so why tell you this?<\/p>\n

Because I’m just a regular guy.<\/p>\n

True, unlike you, I put my pants on 2 legs at a time<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But, other than that, I’m as normal<\/em> as it gets.<\/p>\n

And, if I can do this, YOU can.<\/p>\n

Trust ye me…<\/p>\n

Yes, it took many years of planning, hard work and sacrifice — including an 11 year dysfunctional marriage (where I purposely isolated myself from friends, family and colleagues and did NOTHING but hole myself up and work 15+ hour days)… years of living without the basic pleasures the AIAC (Average Indebted American Chump) takes for granted… and more anxiety than I ever care to admit to anyone.<\/p>\n

(Some memories I’ll happily bring to my grave…)<\/p>\n

But nowadays it’s MUCH easier.<\/p>\n

The paths have been blazed for you.<\/p>\n

All you have to do is choose one.<\/p>\n

So stay the course, babycakes.<\/p>\n

Victory IS worth the struggle<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Especially when your freedom is at stake.<\/p>\n

Alright, enough speeches.<\/p>\n

Time to pitch.<\/p>\n

After all, I do you a disservice by not pitching right now. Otherwise, I’ve just left you all dressed up with nowhere to go.<\/p>\n

So here goes:<\/p>\n

Everyone makes their own path.<\/p>\n

Mine is email marketing.<\/p>\n
