Heard my 2nd favorite Christmas song last night.<\/p>\n
My #1 favorite is the Grinch song.<\/p>\n
But this 2nd favorite song I heard is “Grandma Got Run Over By A\u00a0Reindeer.” And while listening to it, something occurred to me\u00a0about grandmas and marketing.<\/p>\n
Here’s what I mean:<\/p>\n
I lost my grandma a couple years ago.<\/p>\n
But, weird as it sounds, she helps me create my products.<\/p>\n
How?<\/p>\n
Well, if you listen to certain goo-roos out there, you may be\u00a0tempted to think the best way to generate income on the Internet is\u00a0by slapping some crappy product together and then “throwing” it up\u00a0— whether it’s any good or not.<\/p>\n
I’m no goo-roo, but methinks there’s a better way.<\/p>\n
Yes, it’s good to create products fast.<\/p>\n
But it’s also good to use the “grandma test”:<\/p>\n
If the product I’m selling isn’t good enough where I’d want my own\u00a0grandma (assuming she had the problem my product solves) to have\u00a0it, then it’s not good enough to sell to the public, either.<\/p>\n
Hey, maybe that sounds lame.<\/p>\n
But it’ll keep you out of a lot of trouble.<\/p>\n
And you want to know something else?<\/p>\n
This simple test can serve you very well not only for making happy\u00a0customers… but also for making happy customers that look forward\u00a0to buying your NEXT product.<\/p>\n
In other words…<\/p>\n
They like you FIRST product.<\/p>\n
And that trust carries the sale of your NEXT one.<\/p>\n
Easy selling.<\/p>\n
