Ben, I have to know if you get freaked out when writing\u00a0controversial emails? You must have a thick skin! Doesn’t the\u00a0feedback get nasty and angry? Does it freak you out sending emails\u00a0like that?<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Yeah I used to get nervous.<\/p>\n
And it can definitely be hair-raising.<\/p>\n
But now it’s just pure fun.<\/p>\n
I even have a sort of “secret romance” with controversy.<\/p>\n
And, get a thrill from the feedback.<\/p>\n
It’s like the movie “True Romance”.<\/p>\n
Easily one of my all-time favorite flicks.<\/p>\n
There’s a scene where a mobster (ironically played by Mr. Soprano\u00a0himself — James Gandolfini) explains to the character he’s about\u00a0to whack how it feels to kill someone. The first time was hardest\u00a0— he puked the first time. The second time was also rough, with\u00a0the same feeling, but it was better this time — more “diluted.”<\/p>\n
Now?<\/p>\n
He does it just to watch the expression change.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
Freaky, eh?<\/p>\n
But it’s similar to how being controversial in emails is.<\/p>\n
The first few times put my stomach in knots.<\/p>\n
No doubt about it.<\/p>\n
It was nerve-wracking pushing “send.”<\/p>\n
But each time it got easier.<\/p>\n
And easier…<\/p>\n
And easier…<\/p>\n
Until now, I do it just to read the amusing replies from people who\u00a0are obviously way too wound up for their own good.<\/p>\n
Anyway, it’s not for the “thin skinned.”<\/p>\n
But it can be extremely profitable.<\/p>\n
